1300 GMT + 2, is that 1300 CET, or 1300 in Netherlands?

I guess 13.00 local time (11.00 GMT; 12.00 UK time).
I originally thought it was 11.00 local time yesterday (I even joined the chatchannel and was surprised to see no-one there :hammer2:), so this guess should be a lot closer. :p

It means if i am correct that it starts a 1300 GMT, 1500 local time.

Besides, Dutchfire is now playing the save per the rule of chain of command and absence of dedicated turnplayer.

Turnchat has officially started.

Surely it would have been better to wait until 1300GMT, then if he didn't turn up
you could have played the save.

w00t Chaos!

I've played 2 turns before Joe turned up.
I'm going to wait for 13.00 GMT now, and if Hyronymus doesn't show up I'll continue playing.

1300 GMT, no Hyronyms, off I go!

Sorry, I am late! Real life interfered!

EDIT: since dutchfire is finishing this TC a more elaborate explanation. I emailed my study advisor today for a meeting and it turned out he could only make it at 12:30 GMT+2 today. I didn't anticipate a meeting so fast, I didn't even had time to eat properly before I left! I'll hear what the consequences are from the Chieftain.

Provolution and I were waiting for the chat to commence at 13.00 Central European time. After ten minutes or so, it didn't look like Hyronymus, the Designated Player would turn up. So we decide to have a play session anyway, "Chain of Command" style. I started up civ, played two turns, and was ready to continue when Joe entered the chatroom and told us that we had to wait for Hyronymus, as he would come at 13.00 GMT (15.00 Central European Time). So I stopped playing, and did some work for school for an hour. I returned to the chatroom, and still no Hyronymus. So I played another couple of turns, when Hyronymus came in. I was ready anyway, so we decide to stop playing.

Here's the save:

<dutchfire> hi
* Provo has joined #turnchat
<Provo> hey there
<dutchfire> hey
<dutchfire> hyronymus hasn't checked in yet
<Provo> well, the rule is 10 mins
<Provo> in 5 mins, you should play the save
<Provo> and that is unanimous
<dutchfire> i think that's a rule from a previous DG
<Provo> yes, these rules were all over
<Provo> the chain of command rule
<Provo> Minister of Defense is the highest ranking in here
<Provo> and that is you
<Provo> I think that is a good rule
<dutchfire> no Hyronymus yet
<Provo> well, 30 min overdue is too much
<Provo> and it is 1300 GMT +2
<Provo> which is now
<Provo> due to the 2 hour time differential to UK, they got no summertime
<Provo> anyways, it is your conquest of Cumae
<Provo> so it fits
<dutchfire> I've got the instructions
<Provo> yes
<Provo> so you are safe
<Provo> just paste in the instructions, and tell what happens as you do them :)
<Provo> and you will be good to go
<dutchfire> could you post that I'm starting the TC? (I've closed IE to save some memory)
<Provo> ok
* VJTD3 has joined #turnchat
<Provo> No, it means 1300 Dutch time, and 1500 UK (GMT) time, as you got no summertime differential in UK, that is, 2 hours later.
<Provo> Best regards
<Provo> Provo
<Provo> Besides, Dutchfire is now playing the save per the rule of chain of command and absence of dedicated turnplayer.
<Provo> Turnchat has officially started.
<dutchfire> Game loaded
<dutchfire> NotA->missionary
<dutchfire> renamed workers
<dutchfire> ready to press enter (389 (-50) gold, PP in 7)
<dutchfire> CT->Maceman
<dutchfire> Munich->Courthouse
<dutchfire> economy took a plunge when Munich came online
<Provo> I rechecked the times, if he meant 1500 GMT time, he would have written that, so it should be 1300 our time (CET)
<Provo> I will post something on a unified time-definition system for the demogames
<Provo> EST, GMT and CET should be specified
<dutchfire> yeah, it normally is, I just think that his RL interfered
<Provo> I think so to
<Provo> he plays at 1300 normally ? CET?
<Provo> then we are correct
<Provo> yes, there is a statistic explaining why
<dutchfire> I don't know actually, he has only played once IIRC
<Provo> http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/strategy/city_upkeep.php
* VJTD3 has left #turnchat
<Provo> this statistic explains why
<dutchfire> Plantation in marseilles comes online
<dutchfire> 339 gold (-58) PP in 6
<dutchfire> ready to press enter
<dutchfire> riversight courthouse completes, NotA missionary too
<dutchfire> we've discovered copper in Paris, giving us an extra two hammers there
* Joe has joined #turnchat
<Joe> Hi
<dutchfire> hi
<Joe> It isn't 1300GMT yet!
<dutchfire> he didn't say 1300 GMT, he said 1300 Local time, right?
<dutchfire> it's now 14.00 local time
<Joe> it is 1300 BST 1200GMT so we have an hour don't we
<dutchfire> I thought he said that he'd play at 13.00 local time, making it 11.00 GMT (12.00 BST)
<dutchfire> you know what, if no-one objects I'm going to stop playing for about an hour now to see if he turns up (i've already played 2 turns)
<Joe> Yeah wait an hour just to see
<dutchfire> Game saved
<Joe> I would show the chat log for this chat and post the save in the turnchat thread
<dutchfire> starting up Internet now, but it could take time until it's up (my comp doesn't like doing civ and internet at the same time
<Joe> He does mean 1300GMT, he posted in the poll on the next tech at 700GMT saying he had a turnchat in 6 hours.
<dutchfire> okay
<Joe> I am glad this didn't happen at the start of the game otherwise we may have had a massive fight over it!
<dutchfire> (remember when I moved that scout?)
<Joe> Yes,
<Joe> But this as well may have killed the game complety!
<Joe> Oh well honest mistake, we will have to remeber to make the times as clear as possible
<dutchfire> yes, indeed
<dutchfire> I always post local time and GMT when I'm going to play
<Joe> Well i think we just have to move on and learn from this.
<Joe> Right i have to go, i won't be here for the second turnchat of the day! =)
* Joe has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving)

<Hyronymus> at it was 43 at the start right
<dutchfire> something like that indeed
<Hyronymus> nice job then!
<Hyronymus> marketplaces + courthouses rock
<dutchfire> (+building wealth :p)
<dutchfire> I'll upload the save now

Summary: A Great Scientist was born in NoneOfTheAbove, we have to decide what to do with him.
We are currently two turns away from Printing Press, with 144 gold left and a deficit of 26. (It was 60 at some point during the chat!)
We're ready to capture Cumae, our Keshik has a 100% chance to beat the last catapult defending the city. We need to decide if we want to keep it, or raze it. And the decision what to do next, peace or war with Germany, or war with Rome.

Looks like we can set the spinner back 10% and still finish Printing Press in 2 turns. But next to that our position looks very good indeed. Looks like we got a continent of our own soon.
