The 2018 NFL OffSeason Thread

So, Paxton Lynch made the 53-man roster...This can only be explained by the dead money hit the Broncos would take if they cut him...Paxil only performed against people that no longer have a job now.Meanwhile De'angelo Henderson got cut, he's a very good RB that could have provided more than Booker IMHO...
EDIT: Also WTF is the deal with the Raiders trading their best defensive weapon in Mack???

They didn't trade their best defensive weapon, they traded an empty locker.

Meanwhile, Paxton Lynch as a dead money hit is only about a million more than he is as a salary hit, so he costs 3.9 million in cap and provides 2.9 in actual cash plus a roster spot if you cut him, or he costs the 2.9 million in cash and cap space if you keep him. Not that the Broncos are hurting for cash money, but 2.9 million isn't just a nothing to be tossed in a rubbish bin. Apparently they either think they can salvage him with Case Keenum showing him how to be a pro, or they think that some team will be excited enough about his ceiling that they will trade for him despite his obvious lack of a floor.

Or Elway's ego is interfering with his judegment.

Re Mack - The empty locker thing is true now, but if Gruden had, like, you know, tried to talk to him about it during the spring
the locker would have been a lot less likely to be empty. But what Gruden actually did is consistent with his historic
disdain for young players, tendency to ditch players who don't say 'how high?' when he says 'jump', and his possible disdain for defense.

I'm hard to convince on the not having a first round pick for two years front, specifically because of what you mentioned...the bargain contract
Being a lifelong bears fan, you have to look at the horrid track record for bears first round draft picks. Even last year they traded extra draft picks to move up ONE slot to avoid picking Watson. SO getting a proven commodity for those picks isn't as concerning to a bears fan. ;)

So if Trib is a bust, we'll suck for another decade anyway. If he turns out decent, paired with a top defense, at least they'll be much better than they've been since Lovie.

Rants from a delusional Bears fan. Are they any other kinds? ;)
