Pre-turn: Truly a filthy mess in the capital.
1 3160-- Warrior continues north
2 3120--
3 3080-- Pop a hut and....
!! Decide to riisk it and send the city warrior south for another hut.
4 3040--
5 3000-- Move other warrior on top of hut south and he gains experience.
6 2960-- Our southern warrior gets a double woodsman promotion to woodsman II.
(30% jungle/forest defense and 2 moves on that terrain.). Turn down science to get pottery in 2 and 2 gold pieces
7 2920-- Our worker finishes and start a lib for a turn since we'll want to research hard and will switch to gran next. Southern warrior gains even more experience.
8 2880-- Pottery comes in and start on BW so we can chop a settler. Move build to a granary and start on the pigs. Warrior gets combat I but moves next to some lions. I hope with 30% defense will help.
9 2840-- Warrior gets attacked and defends. Send him to Beijing to heal. Our northern warrior is getting blocked by bears
which are nastier than lions for sure.
10 2800--Move west to avoid bears up north and move home with our power warrior.
Summary
Not too much. I think once we finish the granary, the pig pasture and get a few chops in we'll be in biz. We need some fishing techs since there are plenty around. The pasture will improve health a bit and give us an extra shield in two. I've maxed growth till then. That Chicago Bear up north should be avoided. It may make sense to bring him home and let the experienced warrior head south with his woodsman II and combat I strength. I think the north is a dead end for now.
Anyone know the hotkey for renaming units?
A note on floodplains: A city surrounded by floodplains will get unhealthy very quickly so we should consider not building farms on floodplains right away in order to control our growth. These babies are lethal deathtraps. In the later game, these cities will make great Great Person generators when health can be controlled.
