I am also hoping that Civ 6 is a deeper more realistic game. More like a Paradox game but with the infnite possibilities and replayability of the Civ series. I'm sure Civ 6 will end up being a game with beautiful graphics that is fun to play. I just hope that the designers can combine those...
I've only played one game but ai aggressiveness seems about the same as before the patch. Just sit back with a tiny army and tech up. Winning is a piece of cake.
I agree, right now many of ai civs don't actively prevent you from buying up all the city state votes. I have won several games where a couple of the ai civ's had enough money to buy some city states out from under me but didn't. I am tempted to turn off the diplomatic victotry condition, but I...
I have been on this thread in the past complaining that the ai was too passive. Now to be fair, I have to revise my story a little bit. I have played five games so far all small/emperor/normal speed. In my first game I was only attacked only once at around turn 160. Then I had three games in row...
Aristos....I am not upset that my strategy of luring an unsuspecting civ into an ill advised war isn't working. Here is my issue: I spend a lot of resources building up my economy and trade routes early and as a result I seem to become a favored trading partner with a majority of the ai civs...
That doesn't change the fact that some Civ's like the Aztec's are not taking advantage of their strength (early conquest). In my last game Monty sat there with two cities in the middle of the jungle with no chance to keep up in the economic, science or culture battle. Meanwhile with my tiny army...
In my current game (small/emperor/normal speed) I am Theodora. I am on a continent with Monty and Darius two normally aggressive leaders. It is turn 260 and I have not been attacked yet, despite the fact I have a grand total of three composite bowman, one warior a couple of dromons and a caravel...
The game has lost the tension created by the threat of an early ai attack. That is not good change. One no longer has to ponder the next build order "maybe I should build another archer before I start building the market in case the ai rushes me." It just isn't as much fun as it used to be.
I would like to see unit stacking return. Not infinite stacking like in previous civs, but limited stacking. I would like to see it scaled so that ancient warfare would be fought with just one or two stacks, and the number of stacks in play would gradually increase over time, to the point where...
