    The Demographics System

Admittedly, there is a certain love that I have for the demographics system of Civ V, along with the overviews system for diplomacy and such. I have not heard anyone else quite mention it in whatever experience they have with the game, but in some ways I like the realistic stats. If I want to...

    Can I conquer a Station?

Why wouldn't there be? It is technically its own independent entity created by a sponsor for the sole benefit of trading with it, and even without trading with it is still something useful to other sponsors. Do you know how bad it would look if a foreign nation went to an Antarctic research base...

Civ 5's Space Victory now more fulfilling

Nevertheless, your empire has the achievement of sending out the first spaceship to a distant star, and that is a landmark. It is not necessarily your fault that the Great Mistake happened.

    Official Hutama Reveal

I find it sort of interesting how they portrayed him; he is charismatic, but perhaps a little bit arrogant and furthermore somewhat unwilling to lead the Seeding expedition.

Arid Map first 100 turn gameplay

I would more say that it was a "luck of the draw" situation. He did right by getting the workers to try to improve quickly, but surely he knew that he should have launched them away from the siege worm, or else disband them for a bit of energy. That is, assuming he did not have them automated...

Are just 3 Affinities enough variety?

I am thinking that there will be modifications to create more affinities with other goals. How this will use the affinity level system in BE, I am not sure, but it will likely make for some very interesting combinations.

Changed Your Mind on Sponsor Yet?

I am thinking that PAU will still be my first choice. What I think that I will go for is PAU for high-population cities and go for Harmony. Production will quickly add up and I can field some brawlers and marauders early to police the other nations and ensure... well... that their armies and...

    Apple Release Postponed

Honestly, that shakes my confidence just a little bit in Aspyr and 2K. While I am prepared for the game's release, and am at least a self-proclaimed civfanatic, the fact of the matter is that I have a Mac, cannot afford a Windows computer, and likewise am not going to spend huge and grotesque...

    Are BE leaders too generic?

Likewise, keep in mind that there are many times (quotes) where we will get to know these leaders, just as we did for Alpha Centauri. But we do not see the quotes yet. We shall see what happens in the release.

    Pre-Order (Macintosh and Linux versions)

It has been made clear that Civilization: Beyond Earth will be released on Steam for PC/Mac/Linux. Though the PC release has been verified in date (October 24th, 2014), the Mac and Linux releases will be slightly delayed as Firaxis/2K work with another publisher: Aspyr. They have not announced...

    Enough Earth Factions Please

I know that it sounds sort of jerky, but they probably have a "create faction" type option involving the name changing of the faction and of the leader. Just because Polystralia is one of their standard factions in the game does not mean that you cannot have that same Australian faction with a...

    Diplomacy idea, your thoughts?

If you want to be very concerned, worry about the AI that cashes out its favors (realistically, finding a way not to commit to agreements) and then denounces, or suddenly has a satellite (especially if they are supremacy) very close to your source of firaxite.

    Multiplayer Info

Will Miller confirmed in a question on Twitter that hotseat would be available on launch as a multiplayer option. What we can expect, however, is that it will be somewhat similar to Civ V in multiplayer options, as there is a strong tradition surrounding those aspects. On a side note, they...

Livestream #3: "Affinities: Which Direction?" - Aug 28th

I am really hoping to see them discuss the harmony affinity in a bit more detail. Though they have talked about it a bit, it is a whole different animal to see how gameplay is affected.

What topic do you most want addressed in future Livestreams?

Though we have seen some diplomacy in the livestream, I am eager to find out exactly how diplomacy has changed from Civ V to BE. Maybe taking us through what affects the relationships between two sponsors and such in a physical example. Admittedly, I am also hoping to eventually see a multi-civ...
