Mayan UA is weaker than Portugal's, if that's what you mean. There's no question. But it doesn't have to be stronger, because it's balanced by OP UI. When comparing civs, you have to compare the whole package (UA, UI, UB, UU), not just one part.

I will always prefer a UA that directly contributes to a victory to one that provides some utility. In that sense science boost is meaningful, but GG/GA not so much

Unless I'm warmongering, number of generals/admirals doesn't make much difference to me.

Why should it matter ? Most of the time, it's not a good idea to instant bulb scientists in the midgame. It's not uncommon to have 3-4k science per turn in the last era. UA that provides 10% of that is good, but not very exciting

They already have OP UI, they don't need OP UA on top of it. The numbers are not at all impressive for the last era.

    Korea

It's not. At least before this crazy ABC science AI buff - it made the game too unpredictable When somebody enters Renaissance before you, it's a clear symptom. They could enter via Astronomy. Science is the only thing that secures wonders, because AI could be easily getting more production...

    Korea

The first quote is about Maya. The second is about Korea. Read carefully ;) In my last Korea game I wasn't even the tech leader. Another civ (most likely Ethiopia) entered the Renaissance before me. With Maya I'm consistently first to Renaissance, unless some bad luck happens. Actually I don't...

    Korea

I think for CV you need a strong religion (and TtGoG is game changing). Korea really has nothing for it, not with this high Seowon production cost. Also if you luck out, and the cultural leader happens to spawn relatively close to you, World Religion + Fealty combo is super strong. You can...

    New Beta Version - August 16th (8/16)

GDR is not a unique unit. When the UU is obsoleted the CS switches to a generic one.

    (LOCKED) Going for Gold: Wonders

I meant somebody going for DV might get the most benefit of this wonder.

Is the culture and science increase per city and empire modifier making wide too hard?

I agree. There's also an argument that you can (and you probably should) adjust number of civs according to the map size. So having bigger map doesn't automatically mean more space. I used to play Huge Pangaea maps with default number of civs, and there was way too much empty space. Like, for...

    Deal AI Development

I think the strategics prices were nerfed too much. After the early game I stopped selling much cause it wasn't worth it. And lategame..AI was offering me 50gold for 1 coal. Seriously ? Without era scaling, 50gold for 1 strategic will not work.

    New Beta Version - August 16th (8/16)

Playing peacefully doesn't give near as much as warmongering. Also what is predictable ? Settling cities and building buildings ? Cause wonders are not guaranteed or predictable. Even if you build all world wonders peacefully you can't get as high culture and science as a warmonger with half the...

    Diplomacy AI Development

In the recent games, I noticed its much harder to pass Spheres of Influence. I like it, it's one of the most powerful resolutions, it shouldn't be easy. There are still too many bribed distant wars. I think being able to pathfind is not enough to make decisions for bribed wars - for example, on...
