How to invade culturally advanced? (+corruption question)

Well I think the number and quality of troops in the city should help mitigate the possibility of a flip, but I don't know if that's infact the case.

    placing cities

Oh, I think I was wrong. I just did a test start, and built my city on every type of terrain I could find. Whether it was on grasslands, plains, hills, desert, tundra it was always 2 food, 1 shield and 1 commerce. Though I was playing as the English, and since they're commercial maybe it affects...

    placing cities

I could be wrong but I think the city has it's own default resource production which is the same wherever you put it. So I think that yes, putting it on a cow or on wheat or game or whatever will kill those and you wont reap the benefits. You can build a city on tundra for example, and you'll...

Least Favourite Unit to Play with?

Here, I'll make a dumb opinion type thread. Which standard unit in Civ3(and all it's expansions) is your least favourite unit to play with? And when I say Play with, I don't mean "this units stats suck, who'd use it". But rather when you have a unit, and you think "I wish the graphic was...

    buying civ 3

Yeah man you can just buy Civ Chronicles, which has civ4 plus all of civ3, civ2 and civ1. I don't know if my computer is good enough for civ4, but even if I buy this I know I can play all of civ3. Of course, it's got a higher price tag. 60 CDN. Though it's probably cheaper in the states or...

    What's the point of Forts?

I did put a city on just such a landbridge in one game, it produced well until 7/9 countries declared war on me. And then two-three nations attacked the city for a few turns and razed it to the ground. I guess the AI doesnt like land bridges.

    Anyone use Privateers?

I've only given them a go once, but they seemed fairly useless. The few I built got shot out of the water. I'm not sure what their actual attack values are, civilopedia says 1/1 but I've seen 2/1 somewhere else. If they could capture ships they might be super cool. Has anyone used them? Or...

How to invade culturally advanced? (+corruption question)

Yeah I suppose that's one way to quell resisters. Starve em and put 'em to work.

How to invade culturally advanced? (+corruption question)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a Knight. Maybe a Cavalry. My army was full health, three Veteran Knights in a stack with about 6 other Knights. The AI was later attacking my Musketeer Army quite regularly (3 Veteran Musk on a hill), though I think he only started after he captured one of my...

How to invade culturally advanced? (+corruption question)

Yeah, I'm tempted not to reload for exactly that reason. Think I was playing the game like 10 hours straight yesterday, not good. I've had my armies attacked several times. Though my army composition might be a little off. When I first landed my invasion force, I lost an army of Veteran Knights...

How to invade culturally advanced? (+corruption question)

Okay, yeah I'm just playing standard Civ3. Not Conquests or Play the World . . though I think PTW is just multiplayer so doesn't matter anyway. Hmmn, I don't think that I can uh . . . un-army a leader right? It's either rush, or become an army I think right? I did gain a fourth leader at some...

How to invade culturally advanced? (+corruption question)

Is it just me, or are invasions a hell of a lot harder than they used to be in Civ2? After steam rolling over the Germans in the medieval age, I thought I'd continue on to the french and hoped my army across on a slew of Caravels. Within 2 turns, I captured 3 major cities and was beginning to...

Grrr, auto city production drives me nuts

Oh really? okay cool. Yeah I just bought some cheapo jeweled case Civ3, so it doesnt even have a rulebook and I couldn't stand playing through the tutorial though it probably would be a good idea.

Grrr, auto city production drives me nuts

Well, I managed to get the french into a mutual defensive pact, but no one else would bother. One thing that I've found annoying though, is that on the larger map you can have say like . . . 9 civs or something right, rather than 5-6. But on the foreign advisor screen, you can never get those 9...

Grrr, auto city production drives me nuts

Sweet, thanks dudes. I was trying to figure how to do that cue thing, I assumed it had to do with "London needs an aqueduct, build now or after temple?" sorta thing. I think I'm about to get powned in my game though, since I told the Romans to piss off when they wanted my territory map and 10...
