Anyone got a clue why this happened?
I chose the patronage policy to reset the starting point to 20 with all city states.
When I checked, only about half had been reset. The others remained at 0.
It specifically says all starting points will be reset - not half of them.
Playing the mongols on...
This is something I've noticed. The AI Civs are able to spawn units in what should be impossible circumstances.
I think the have access to a secret ideology devoted to raising the dead.
Civ 5 isn't an easy game on the higher difficulty levels, and IMO, that's good. What could be more boring than always winning?
I find happiness a big problem when I'm taking cities. Also choosing the 'wrong' ideology.
Yes, try to make allies of as many city states as you can if you want...
Returned to Civ 5 after a few years. After playing a few games, I've noticed a curious thing. On the King level, the AI Civs appear to have a magic wand that creates units out of thin air. I say this having pillaged their improvements and killed off every unit they make visible. Yet still they...
Okay, IMO, the American civ under Roosevelt in unfairly weighted towards military force compared to the other civs. So much so, that if this civ is one of your opponents, you stand very little chance of overhauling it.
My current game is barely one third complete, and already the map is mostly...
I've raised this a few times. The lockups happened on a laptop running a Ryzen 5 with Win 11. Tried all the suggestions. No good. I got so frustrated with it, I loaded the game on to another system - a pc with an I7 and Win 10. I'm on my 3rd game and no lockups. Not one.
Not drawing any...
I'm pretty sure these freezes occur directly after the city states and barbarians have had their turns. Whatever processing comes next causes the problem.
Microsoft must have millions of these reports and Firaxis must have been informed. They do not fix a fixable problem.
I suggest all Civ...
Some kind soul created a mod to disable rock bands. I was looking for a similar mod that disabled these childish, game-spoiling robots, but couldn't find one.
Will have to investigate the method in japanesesamurai's post.
Because of the ineptitude of the AI, wars are too easy to win, making the blitz of denouncements necessary to ramp up the game's jeopardy. I also think it's realistic that those who are angry with you would refuse to trade luxuries.
IMO, the next generation of Civ needs a total rethink about...
Not sure if this has been mentioned before - it probably has - but I would like to see a return to the idea of playing as a barbarian tribe, as you could do in a Civ II mod. Of course, with the individual tribe variances, it could be a far more sophisticated concept.
Imagine being inserted at...
Above all else, this. Make the game HARD..
But I'm afraid what we will get is another game that panders to the Disney brigade: all frills & special effects, with a mind-control, ocean-shifting death-blaster robot.
I get these end-of-turn crashes and can't see any common factor about them. They happened in Win10 and are still happening in Win11. They happen using Direct 11 and 12. They happen despite following tech advice to disable core 0 in the task manager affinity option. They happen whatever civ I...
Childlike. As in Disney. You're right: I don't like Civ 6 being cartoonish. .
Yes, rock bands are real, but the implementation of them is silly in my opinion. The sound they've been given is like a fly caught in a spider's web.
Repeat: This is my opinion - right?
We're all entitled to one...
When I was playing Civ 5, and I first saw the screenshots of Civ 6, my first thought was 'Disney' and what that implied. I wasn't wrong. Having now played Civ 6 with the main expansion packs and having actually enjoyed the eye candy, I can say there's far too much that's wrecked the basic game...
