I had almost the same situation in a game I finished last night. Except, I lost. One of the problems I ran into with the spies was this: After successfully destroying SS production in two cities, the bomb icon was never again lit up - I couldn't do it again. I ran around destroying production...
I destroyed a battleship yesterday with a transport. The BB was mildly damaged previously (log showed it on even footing with the transport) but still, I raised an eyebrow.
Anybody figure out how to use artillery to bombard tiles? I see you can bombard cities, and they defend when your stack is attacked, but can they bombard selected tiles? Same question goes for all siege weapons and ships.
I love the new spies! Some have mentioned converting cities to your state religion (provided you founded it) and this is effective for knowing what is going on in those cities...but missionaries are not always successful at founding your religion. Spies are never unsuccessful at passively...

Equally important to which civ seems to be which leader? As they bring vastly different abilities to the same nation. I voted Russian, but ended up choosing France and Louis - Louis having traits I found interesting...and promptly got my butt handed to me on level two!!

No doubt in my mind...the Russians! Always been fascinated with Russian Culture ever since I read Dostoevsky (why isn't he an optional ruler!) :crazyeye:
