[R&F] First Look: Robert the Bruce | Scotland

UB should've been a pub district, replaces all other districts (holy site, entertainment, commerce, culture, you name it), no restrictions on number of pub districts per city. It would've been a unique playstyle.

    Poor interface

My problem with that bar is that Scythia conquered Jerusalem very early on in the game. Also, Japan built Stonehenge. Those two messages stayed there for the entire game. I actually found some of those messages useful because it told me if a deal ended and needs to renewed or if some AI broke a...

    Poor interface

The UI really is terrible. So far, I'm liking the new concepts in the game but the UI is annoying me. These have been mentioned multiple times by many other people. My list of complaints include: -Edge-scrolling is broken -Lack of mouse over info on just about everything. Buildings in the city...

Why is there this strange complaints and negativity?

Because plenty of gamers now are graphics obsessed idiots who want everything ultra-detailed and ultra-realistic when they zoom in completely. I started playing Civ in the 90s and I love the direction of Civ 6's graphics. Give me easily understood and distinguishable art when I zoom out so I can...

America, most powerfull ancient, classical, medieval civilization ???

America needs a second UU to make up for the fact that Firaxis normally gives America a garbage air UU. Late game UUs are normally very lackluster. The normal German tank UU is just about the only exception in most games.

    Brazil - Pedro II Thread

Being a regional power in South America would be great if South America is a bigger part of the world economy than it currently is. When I went to business school for undergrad and MBA, it was all about Asia, US and EU. More often than not, whenever I hear about South America's economy, it is...

    Computer Spec. Required

Modern games tend to be terribly optimized, both in performance and installation size. I was surprised at how much my PC struggles to run Street Fighter 5 compared to Street Fighter 4. Diablo 3 is a performance and hard drive space hog compared to Diablo 2. Even a card game like Hearthstone is...

    Brazil - Pedro II Thread

I find it odd, too. It always puzzles me why people associate Americans and Canadians with Europeans and the rest of the Americas with natives. Some South American countries (Argentina, for example) are whiter and more European than the US and Canada.

    Brazil - Pedro II Thread

The US is really the only more "modern" nation that should be in if you are looking at global influence. Canada and Australia have pretty low populations. Mexico and Brazil are still too poor. The other big powers we have currently are older countries. Also, I don't understand this prejudice...

What kind of Leader archetypes are you hoping/expecting to see filled?

I hope they make leaders that resemble human beings rather than just caricatures. Science fiction is notorious for being one-dimensional. Human beings with just one belief. Worlds with one type of terrain. Species with one type of culture. One climate. One profession. I do not want over the top...

    Do not make game cartoonish

The greens on the flora could be a little more vibrant. It looks nice though. I just don't want to repeat the debate that went on in other games, with Diablo 3 being a very good example. People complained too much that the outdoor areas were too bright and cartoony. They wanted it to resemble...

    Do not make game cartoonish

I hope the realistic look they shoot for is "how our planet really looks like under sunlight". And not realistic as in "looks like somebody's poorly lit basement". The latter is too prevalent among videogames nowadays, especially in modern shooters.

    Rome 2 - Impressions

I think you're misunderstanding the farm trick in Shogun 2. It is not about building farms per se. It is also realizing that building anything that consumes food is counterproductive. Building a castle so you can increase taxes requires time, too. And each castle upgrade pretty much requires an...

So what kind of troll created the AI, exactly?

It almost seems like the AI is programmed to give you diplomatic penalties. It will complain to you next that you settled your capital too near its second city. At that point of the game, destroying that second city might make you a warmonger for the rest of the game.

Civ V no longer a 4x or am I missing something?

As somebody who despises ICS, I'm feeling the limitations of Civ 5 as well. I despise ICS because the strategy encourages players to build in crappy locations and benefit from doing so. On the other hand, Civ 5 penalizes players from even settling good spots once you get past 4-6 cities or so...
