Heres why I think there is a problem, the graphics are all on low, no AA, no effects and yet it still lags quite a bit.

Well when I begin a game things run smoothly, there is no lag what so ever. Once I've been playing for a while and more things appear on screen (Roads, workers, etc.) the game begins to chug. My FPS are dropping into the low single digits. This was on a standard map size.

One of the the first things I did was update the Nvidia drivers, and apperently everything is up to date.

I downloaded the Direct2Drive version of the game and it is already patched up to the 1.74 patch.

I just bought Civ4 and the BTS expansion and installed them on my computer. The game starts off fine, however as the game progresses and I get into the industrial era my game becomes sluggish and almost unplayable. I'm running: A Del Inspiron 6400 laptop Windows XP Media Edition 1022MB...
