I have asked this before but cannot find the response: what is the PREFERENCE that turns off the 'walking' animation during battles?

Quick question....I just loaded Civ on a new PC with XP and now when I play the units moving don't 'flash' to the next location...they actually slide to the next spot....anyone know a fix for this? Is it a setting on the desktop?

I have never used the governors because I like the managing of all the cities. Early in the game I manage all the workers but once I have to start fighting I automate them. This is only bacuse as I conquer cities I end up with too many workers to manage them all. A single turn would take way...

Yes Renata that was the question. I was just reading a description of a GOTM and the writer kept mentioning a palace being built in a different city and it sounded like he was able to build multiple palaces. He must have been moving the one palace around....

Well, considering the whole 'play games from your PC with people on the internet' in these versions is fairly new....these kind of growing pains are to be expected. I still have problems sometimes playing games on Yahoo with people accross the country. And those set ups are ALOT less...

I would bet some serious cash that a company like this did not FAIL to test the internet playability, or that they only tested on a LAN connection. I think that they failed to recognize the infinate possibilities that are possible out there and maybe missed, what was probably, a minor...

As a person who does application testing for a living, let me tell you that there is NO way to anticapte EVERY problem that may arise. You test applications on every platform, with all possible programs but there is no WAY you could test the expontential possiblilities that user can have on...
