If you build a city in Iceland and have a Great Artist create a Great Work, you can move through the ocean tile NW of the whale - nicely evokes the Sagas, 10/10
If you build a city on the tip of Greenland, you can bypass the strategically placed ice sheet which otherwise blocks your path -...
This is more like a question than a fully fleshed-out request
The Norse in 600 AD always, with 100% consistency, attack independent Morrocco right before the Moors spawn, with zero impact on the game. On extremely rare occasions, they also snipe Carthage before the Arabs get to it.
Would it...
TL/DR: Byzantines in 600 AD should start off with at least one of the Triremes replaced by a Dromon
As the Byzantines in 600AD, the naval aspect is kinda lacking, as you are completely unable to face off against ANY opponent with 2 galleys and 2 triremes for tens of turns:
- Arabs spawn with...
oh, didn't know it was intended for Barbarians to get +10%.
In that case you're right, the only thing wrong is the green color of "+10% vs. Barbarians" in the tooltip.
The effect is wrong - instead of an even fight, barbarians get +10% (as far as I can tell, I doubt it's just a display issue)
this is also visible when viewing the calculated strengths of the two units before combat - it's displayed that the barbarians get the +10% to their strength
On Paragon (and maybe other difficulties, idk) but not on Regent, the +10% bonus against barbarians has the exact opposite effect, giving THEM +10% against your units. This applies only against barb units.
The tooltip is contradictory - your bonus is spelled out in green, but their strength is...
@Leoreth
Before I flesh this out, a question - to what extent can AI units be pre-programmed to do a certain move on the first turn? (e.g. making sure a barbarian unit, which starts out pre-placed on the map, always sacks the nearby city on its first turn, instead of wandering off aimlessly)
I've been thinking about some changes to the Byzantine starting situation, to add a bunch of bells and whistles, in order to make the whole player experience even better - would this be of interest?
Euesperides shouldn't be a thing in the 600AD scenario, but instead named Berenice:
After the marriage of Ptolemy III to Berenice, daughter of the Cyrenean Governor Magas, around the middle of the 3rd century, many Cyrenaican cities were renamed to mark the occasion. Euesperides became...
Up to the Renaissance, city ruins should provide +1 production on their tile and/or provide similar production to chopped forests when cleared, including (or at least) when settling on top.
Recycling building material from destroyed buildings/cities, or incorporating remains of ancient...
Hi there,
My very first post here. Awesome mod btw.
Played with the Byzantines on Paragon in the 600 AD scenario a little bit.
5000 Gold
There is afaik only one way of getting 5000 gold in time on this difficulty - sending 3 Great Merchants to Jerusalem, where they net 1800 gold each. Neither...
