    September Patch Notes Discussion

One change I am most concerned about so far was that -20% to all resource harvest/chop yields: 25->20 (banana, rice, deer, cattle, fish, sheep, stone, wheat), 50->40(copper,crab). It will have a big impact on some Chinese tactics, but was not mentioned in the patch note (maybe I missed it)?:undecide:

    [GS] June 2019 Patch Details

Perhaps Holy Site will become the most valuable district after this patch. This time Friaxis is clearly starting to adjust balance in earnest. This indicates they've been working on other things for years, like new expansions. So, GS may really be the last expansion of Civ6, which is a bit sad.

Why did they nerf Amundsen Scott?

Don't know how about here, but in our side, this wonder has always been very popular for common (not fastest) SV. Since peaceful SV tends to rush globalization, then chop spaceships in tundra cities (near snow tiles) after R&F, this one is very convenient, and 1620 prod is quite cheap for its era.

Is Civ6 worth it over Civ5?

That's the point. In Civ4 & Civ5, population provide the base, and buildings generally provide the % boosts; but in Civ6, both population and buildings provide base, but nearly no % boosts. And the districts/buildings provide base yield more efficient than population, but you can only have one...

Is Civ6 worth it over Civ5?

Sorry to tell you that city spam is always the BEST solution in Civ6, which is far more than in Civ5 and Civ4. In Civ5, with 6 cities you will not fall behind too much than with 15 cities if you planning well, but in C6 you might even lose your game if not have enough cities. City spam...

    Rating the Governments (Gathering Storm)

It looks fair when we only consider governments themselves. But if we considered the legacy cards, Classical Republic will be much valuable. Whether warmonger or peaceful, the more cities you have, the stronger it becomes.

[R&F] Civ of the Week: Japan

On the contrary, because of overflow fixed, Japan has been greatly nerfed in GS. You can read this thread: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/is-chopping-overflow-overcorrected.642113/

GS update: What does desert weighting mean?

Start bias has a "Tier" property, the smaller the value, the higher the priority. So they modified the Mali start bias from Tier 2 to Tier 1.

Fastest CV Guides - Gathering Storm

You can have multiple. When era changes, all these "almost done" techs and civics will -20% costs but remain progress that already get. But in fact, if you do too "optimal", you will find only in the first 1 or 2 era changes you can have some techs and civics remained "almost done", later your...

Fastest CV Guides - Gathering Storm

More simpler than you think. That is just for -20% cost. Notice that in ancient era, currency cost 144, but in classic era it cost 120. Assume in T48 the world will enter classic era, you produce 10 science per turn. In T46 Currency is 143/144, if you not change it, in T47 it will be 153/144...

[GS] SV Discussion for Gathering Storm

I guess you've already updated to GS, right? The map generation algorithm has changed, also added new civilizations so you cannot get the same maps as old version.

[GS] SV Discussion for Gathering Storm

The modifications of GS are too late to take effect, so its core thinking is nearly as the same as RF if you want to win faster (Just a temporary view). GS was just released so only a little videos I can find. For reasons that we known, all videos I can provide are in Chinese. 1. Rogue_Star...

[GS] Are Magnus' chops still worth it?

I agree it's very different, and gold is the key yield in mp game (you cannot trade gold), which makes Reyna very popular. But if someone is mad and wants to end up with you, or in a team game, or slower than online speed, it is very hard to defend his Magnus horsemen rush.

[GS] Lumber mills vs removing forests and food surplus

If you really want to know the most efficient way, you have to be prepared, because it's very counterintuitive. Maybe most people will think I'm exaggerating, but trust me, try it. All the fastest plays are based on mass chops with Magnus, which is unfortunate. Everything should be harvested...

[GS] Are Magnus' chops still worth it?

Some people are more rational, some people are more emotional, but more people are both, and this game can meet most people's taste. As long as everyone can find their own fun, it's great. Here is Strategy & Tips, so it might be a little more rational, or say "pro". Believe me, in other games...
