I find that clicking the button to go from World view to Strategic view speeds up the AI turns for me. However I do still have my kindle ready during the very late game.

And as I found out yesterday. Ranged units cannot destroy it, you have to take it out with Melee.

Never modded before but I love simulations and statistics. I was wondering if it is possible to mod the game so that it has no human player? Ideally it would advance turns automatically, but if that is not possible i would not be adverse to press next turn a bunch of times.

What is a good rule of thumb as far as "Big Enough Army".

Is there a way to have the game play with no human players automatically? (Even if I have to click Next turn) I have a curiousity about statistics and would like to run games without human intervention to see where it leads the AI.

As a stat nerd I like to see my results (good or bad) in the hall of fame screen so I can compare myself to my previous games. So I always finish my games. Too bad the g&k and vanilla hall of fames are mutually exclusive.

I have recently started playing completely random for all options except skill level and possibly leader. The three games i have started this way all started with a tiny map. Is this just a fluke of the random number gods or is this option broken? Playing BTS latest patch. Only mods are blue...

If you have the slavery civic you can whip your population in order to hurry the current build in that city. With Democracy there is a civic that is enabled (forgot which) that will let you spend money instead of population to quickly finish a build. Of course the further along into the item...
