    Conquest of America

As was said in the original post, the conquerors in the real world recruited natives and used their own citizenry against them. While it might be possible to implement this, I'm not sure the AI would actually use it if Rhye put it in.

    Alternative City Placement

AP: The idea behind that is that coastal cities have the disadvantage of not having many hammers. Granted, the earth map (either the stock one or Rhye's) with lots of good hammer resources usually placed near historical coastal cities overrides that, but they balance for the normal game.

    Stability proposals

Universal Suffrage + State Property actually works well, given the Marxist ideology that everyone is equal. The Police State + Nationalism combination should probably be thought of separately. I don't think it's wise to conflate the ideology of Marx with the dictatorial implementation of Stalin...

    Playing Respawns

I don't think I've ever seen a respawn in position *to* play for a victory. Culture's impossible, Domination and Conquest are obviously going to be impossible, which leaves... Space Race, Score, and Diplomatic. I think SR is going to be the only one that's feasible, and you'll almost always be...

    Playing Respawns

The problem is most of the time the independent civs can't actually accomplish anything. It'd be an unwinnable game in many cases. The year-based UHVs would have to be retooled, though even something as simple as just making it "X years after you spawn" instead of "X AD" would work... though it...

    On Great Depression

If you're building corporations, then sure, rejecting State Property is solid. In that case, I'd seriously consider skipping over both Free Market *and* State Property and going straight from Mercantilism (if you used it) to Environmentalism. The 25% penalty you pay on corporations isn't a big...

    Starter civ

Babylon is quite easy but has a huge luck factor (getting Writing first, razing India with that warrior). Egypt is fairly easy, Japan is pretty easy. Greece was a hell of a lot of fun for me. Those are the only UHV's I've beaten. India is.. well... infuriating. I can easily get the first two...

    Better Unique Power

The WWII mod that ships with BTS has a nifty thing that simulates this, the various industrial techs give huge boosts to production and happiness in cities, but none are as good as what Fascism (which Germany, Italy, etc start out with). Perhaps Police State should improve production of...

    Different smaller map

That seems like it would be VERY interesting in multiplayer.

    On Great Depression

Well, if you're planning on a Corporate strategy, you can go Mercantilism -> Environmentalism; the extra upkeep doesn't really matter much compared to the extra health and happiness, which will result in bigger cities and therefore more gold (more cottage use).

    On Great Depression

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that it's just not worth it to go for Free Market because I get a great depression nearly every time I do so. Skipping to State Property seems to be the way to go.

    Playable Byzantines in RFC 600AD

That'll be one hell of a hard UHV to get, if it's even possible. Your number of cities is going to result in a low tech rate, making it nearly impossible for you to keep up with the techs well enough to control asia minor. Not to mention the stability problems. "Do not lose any cities" like...

    Conquerors Event

All I know is, it's really freaking awesome to get the Conquerors event when you're Japan. Screenshots of the end result will be posted once I'm done.
