I thought that getting a diplo victory in Civ 4 would be near impossible...I mean, with 7 religions it never seems like you can get that many votes in the UN. Here's what happened.

Maybe useless is too strong a word. Let me put it this way. The musketeer does not substantially improve its replacement unit in tha same way that say...Pratorians improve swordmen. They're a little faster...whup de doo. That's what I have mounted units for.

Hey all, I was inspired by the UU longevity thread (which is becoming off-topic) to ask about strategy, tactics and favorite unique units.
Some Civs obviously have a UU that contributes to their strengths (Roman Praetorians or the Aztec Jaguar) Others have units with more flexible roles...
That's funny, because that's how I feel about Hatshepsut. Every time I see her smug, smiling face in a game I groan...
I just KNOW she's going to wipe the floor with me in tech... That's when I mobilize the tanks!
You MUST, MUST, have tons of defensive troops if you want to play a pacifist. Being a diplomatic pushover won't help you if the AI thinks you're weak.
Have a minumum of about 4 troops per city, with a quick response mobile force somewhere to hit anyone foolish enough to pillage you...
Actually, I've mostly heard armor divisions (tanks) referred to as armored cavelry.
Some infantry are called arborne cav also...
I think that any unit that fills the same roll of mobility and power can be called cavelry. Didn't horses upgrade to tanks in Civ II/III?
