    What are palace improvments for?

    Okay, thanks for the answers.

How do I keep up in tech?

Since I usually play with a continents map, I usually have two-three AI civs sharing my continent. One of my first goals is alaways to eliminate the AI civs on my continent. So, destroying the first one I meet, before they can get more than two-three cities, is alot easier than trying to destroy...

    The Decision to goto War.

That's why I usually go to war. I like to go for conquest, and so, even if my AI neighbor is very freindly and there is nothing I would gain if I destroyed them, I will declare war, because I have to to win the game.

Is this a little bit scary?

^The "Chips and dip" at a CivFest are computer chips and the dip is silicone.

    will workers stay put?

They will stay there until they finish working the tile, then you will have to tell them where to go or what to work next.

    What are palace improvments for?

I was just wondering, when you get that, "the people offer to upgrade your palace" message, does upgrading the palace actually have any effect on the game or is it just a way to see how good you're doing. Does it matter which section of the palace you improve? Also, what conditions must be met...

    Help on final war

Do you have artillery or fire support? If so, use it to destroy the roads or railroads connecting the enemy's cities, then attack. This way, they won't be able to send reinforcements. Also, like kenScott said, don't worry about ruining the land with bombs. You will get the victory anyway, so it...

How do I keep up in tech?

Well, I could put the research slider at 10% and then save up gold to buy techs with, but that's counting on the fact that I'll find alot of AI civs on my continent. Also, I usually like to decalre war on the first civ I find so I can take them out before they get more than a few cities...

Giving cities away, is it "cheating".

Giving a captured city to a more powerful AI is a great way to destroy your opponents. The AI will want their city back, and since cities are undefended when they change hands, they will recapture their city, declaring war on the powerful AI that you gave the city to. Having it on a one-tile...

Why don't they want to buy my city?

That probably explains it then. I don't own conquests either.

How do I keep up in tech?

I thought that, on regent level, the AI's research rate is even with yours. However, when I tried playing a game on regent, when I met one of the AI civs, they were alaways 3-6 techs ahead of me. What's worse is, I didn't have enough money to buy any of the techs. The only time I could get a...

    Americans - Amerindian culture?!?

Umm, okay. Can someone tell me how we got a 7 page political debate out of a Civ III question?

    Scientific Leaders by the Dozen

The minimum time it could have been done in is six turns. He probably got philosophy first, which gave him a SGL, then he was the first to get the free tech he chose, which gave him a second SGL, then the next tech, which took four turns to research, also gave him a SGL.

    Massive All Call Strategies

I think it's a good idea, but it's pretty much already been done, several times. Just go to gamefaqs.com and find Civ 3. However, most of those are outdated, and they are in hard-to-read text format. If you made one in HTML format, possibly with screenshots, that you updated with new...

Why don't they want to buy my city?

Really? I thought that going over the OCN would cause an increase in corruption in all cities.
