What type of monitor are you using and what resolution do you have it at? Try editing the ini to set a custom resolution and enter the value that is native to your monitor.

Do you receive an error just befor this one? Last time I saw this it said just before "failed to allocate video memory"? Did you get that message. From the main menu go to the advanced option, then options and then graphics. Lower the details from High down to low then exit the game and try again.

create a folder on your desktop, then copy both disks over to this folder. Then run the setup.exe from the folder. Job done :-)

Have you got the latest drivers for video/sound card?

Right click on the shortcut for the game, then propities, compatibility. Then run in compatibility mode for windows nt, apply then ok. Try it again

Cant see how it would cost more but glad they are sending you one

Try copying the contents of the cd over to your hard drive. If you get the same error whilst copying that it would suggest a problem with the disk.

You could try installing in safe mode as that will also shut all background apps from running. I definately sounds as though something is going wrong with the initial install.

click start, run and type dxdiag Then click on save all info and attach the text file to a post using the go advanced button

Like i said in my reply try contacting Safe Disk as well as take 2 to see if they can be of any help. Its worth a try

Check the bottom of the disk for any marks/scratches and clean them off.
