Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else has tried building the largest city possible on the Earth map? I have found two places where such a city is possible and it grows to size 42. See attached screenshots. Are there any other places?
Ok I see the original code now. If I understand corectly I need to repalce the original with 9090B8070D83C400B80B00?
Edit: I did it but my game still has the extra land and is crashing because I have a city too close to the top of the map. I guess it only works on new games?
For exmaple. Here are instruction on how to patch for the arctic anomoly. There is no row in the offset column that matches 0x4718C and there are 11 columns of digits but my file has 15.
Hi all,
I'm wondering if somoene can put together a step by step instruction on how to modify civ.exe with a hex editor? In all of the posts I've seen, most seem to be quite advanced and don't explain anything at all. For example this is what I see when I open civ.exe but none of the...
Thank you for this. Would you happen to have a step by step instruction on how to apply this patch. I have a hex editor but the data inside civ.eve isn't exactly the same and I can't figure out what to do.
Hi all,
Occasioanlly there is a glitch in the game which adds a swath of land to the arctic when plaing Earth. It's not the firs ttime I see this but I'm wondering if anyone else has come accross it. I'm currently irrigating the entire planet and I'll let you know if I can build cities here.
Thanks for the the reply! Question though..in the readme for that unpacker it says"Just copy CivUnpack.exe (with .dll and .json files) in a directory with CIV.EXE and run." but there is no CivUnpack.exe in the github project folder. There is CivUnpack.csproj. How do I run the program?
Have you...
Thank you for the detailed writeup. I've been trying for hours to understand how to mod the civ.exe files to make some modifications to units but to no avail. Do you think it would be possible to explain it with a little more detail?
Do we need to uncompress the .exe? The link to the unp tool...
Hi guys,
I reached the maximum number of cities and the game said I should remove some of my older ones and replace them with new ones. Is there actually a way to do this aside from starving them until they reach 1 and then built a settler. I have 127 cities.
Interestingly enough I pillaged those irrigation squares because I couldn't get an even food supply in those cities. It seems to be a bug in the game. Sometimes you either have 1 extra food or one less food and every time you grow you just starve back down and the process repeats itself...
HI guys. New to this site. I'm not sure if there is a special place to post screens of your civs but forgive me if this is the wrong place. I'm 28 and started playing Civ when I was about 10 or 11 years old I guess. I haven't been playing the whole time lol just maybe a few odd times in the last...
