hi! I installed SMAC on my Apple G4 powerbook running Windows 98 (under Virtual PC) and when I play the game, the graphics are all in 256 colors, which looks awful. Resetting the monitors color depth to 16 or 32 bit doesnt seem to help, because the game automatically sets them back to 256...
