SMAC graphics problem [on Virtual PC]

hi!

I installed SMAC on my Apple G4 powerbook running Windows 98 (under Virtual PC) and when I play the game, the graphics are all in 256 colors, which looks awful.
Resetting the monitors color depth to 16 or 32 bit doesnt seem to help, because the game automatically sets them back to 256.

So... does anyone here have any ideas how I can play this game with more colors? I couldnt find any such video settings within the game itself.

DO you have the Mac disc for SMAC?
if you do then just go download the Carbon version from the internet (a google search should do you) and it will play on OSX with the disc in the drive.
IF windows, i dunno

nope, sadly no Mac version (yet!).

the disc for the mac version is clonable btw (not sure if i'm allowed to be writing these things sorry if this is bad)
so if you have a friend with the mac disc, copy paste all the items to a folder and then into a blank CD and the computer will run SMAC as if it were the original disc

I found a Mac version. Now all I need to do is install OS Classic.
Lets see if that works...

like i just said there's a Carbon version that'll run on OSX with the classic mac disc in the drive, just google it.
