First of all I am going to pretend my inquiry inspired you to write this article even if that is not true.
Secondly, tyvm
But third I am in the middle of a tough work schedule which has caused me to put civ on hold for a couple weeks and only logged into civ fanatics to pass some time...
usually I get construction via MM or Hatty (on friendly which is easy w/ her) however I guess I am answering my own question because they tend to research it about the same time others are getting feudalism which is not a good thing
I don't really like either city location or anything near...
I am obsessed with this setup because I feel India has an unfair advantage on this mapscript and while I know there are better settings I really want to play this anyway, but I have been doing really poorly at it. Settings are Gandhi on Small Epic Emporer Rainforest.
#1 - I go for Oracle...
Judging from some of your posts in other threads it seems you are debating not continuing this replay / write up; I hope you do continue it, however; I personally apologize for not providing any feedback but I am nowhere near your level of play and have nothing of importance to add. Seeing...
This is setup from HOF g-minor 197; somehow I managed to mess things up and not get a good date, most likely because I am not very good. It is only prince level on a rainforest map with normal speed.
Although this start looks nice what makes it truly is awesome is:
I have browsed CIV Illustrated and it changed my choice of favorite opponents significantly, reminded me of some things I had forgotten and I learned a few things about some leaders which I had never known. I suppose I will have to settle for hoping you do another replay and then I can follow...
excellent work so far both in game and the write up; 3 capitals from chariots is insane and something I would have never contemplated; which I guess is why I could never get a decent date, of course getting horses in your cap really helped my question is would that be feasible even on prince...
I have read a little of some of your replays, wish I had time to really follow one and read the whole thing, perhaps I just need to make time because the learning curve would be invaluable. Anyway somewhere in one of your replay threads (I have no idea which one) you mentioned writing some...
I am just hoping not to come in more than 100 years after Pangaea; its 1190 AD and I am still conquering the world ... or at least trying to lay claim to my 60% of it.
So yeah I most likely screwed this up somewhat ... or perhaps totally, idk. After building a few axes to take horses from Fred I realized building up horses at that point to take over the world would take too long and decided to plant some cities and concentrate on infrastructure and wait for...
Thanx for the input and I will try to follow that line of advice; however I must first take the horses from Fred with some axes. I still just have a bad feeling that I will mess up this start, the pace is just too fast, I don't really like normal speed.
I really love this start and hate to mess it up but even though its only prince level im still re-learning how to play this game and I was never that good the first go around. I oracled cs in 1160 and adopted bureau. Meanwhile Frederick was nice enough to research alphabet for me which I can get...
You can actually do better than that on food, or at least better as in not having to wait for plantations: 2 pig 2 gold is easy to get (and hopefully at least one gold on ph instead of dh). The first time I played bts regularly (which is more years than I care to admit) I was obsessed with...
Two things about rain forest maps:
- it really helps to be India & have fast workers
- it really helps to be religious to go between caste system & slavery
I was neither decided not to play thru a space victory and instead use the religion Isabella had founded (Buddhism) and "gave" to me in...
Returning to civ after a lengthy absence and this was my first game. Settled where the warrior started. Lost my first settler to barbs. Decided not to build GW and elected to wipe out Isabelle instead. Montezuma the 5th & Joao were my closest neighbors and were both running Judaism, decided that...
