    The Mac Version?

Hello, For a long time, I have played Civilization. Recently, I got a Mac, and I haven't used windows in a while (mostly Linux). Anyway, since I have a Mac, I have a choice between continuing to run the game under cedega or buying the mac version. Has anyone here played both? Are there...

    Make Civ More Like History

    16. Only wonders built by your civilization in real life can be built by your civ in the game. 17. You start on a real-world map where your civ started. You can't build costal cities if your civ is landlocked, can't build off an island if you civ in RL is stuck there, etc.

    Make Civ More Like History

I think we should make Civ more like history. Here is what we should do: 1. Your civ starts when it was actually created and with the resources it had when it was actually created. 2. Only great people actually born in that civ in RL can be born in Civilization. 3. No letters or words...

    MS Windows Sucks

Like I said, Games are probably the main reason Windows remains dominant. If there is a better OS, like Linux or Mac, but you can't play games on it, we have a problem. I think this needs to be fixed. Since Civ has already been ported to Mac, a Linux port can't be that hard.

    MS Windows Sucks

Bill Gates is not, nor will he ever be, an embodyment of Microsoft and or Windows. I don't care about how much money he gives to charity, how much money he makes, etc. Windows is an insecure and unstable OS which has lots of problems. Of course, go ahead and use it if you like. Also, Linux is...

    Warlords or Beyond the Sword?

Are you sure that BTS will include warlords? I can't seem to find this elsewhere.

End score, dan quayle every time!

Nicely said. I hate the talk of "make civ more like history." Here is civ made more like history once the topic progresses: 1. If you choose a civ that died early on, like Greece, you are auto-killed once they fell. 2. If you choose a civ with a late start, like America, you start too late to...

Civilization is based on the history of the Earth...

Just my opinion, but in Real Life, there is only one victory condition-Conquest. You can control a huge portion of the world-the other countries with the rest of the land will gang up and beat you down. You can colonize Alpha Centeri-No one will recognise you as the de-facto ruler of the world...

What do you want to see next: Civ 5 or a 3rd Expansion?

The Sims created a new version. The thing about new versions is that they allow for a lot of new things, but require a clean slate, removing things loved about previous expansions that could not be added again, like how The Sims removed pets (and a bunch of other stuff) in their new version and...

    Space Race-Revert good or bad?

Certainly going to love this! Thanks for the responses. I agree, it is a race to colonize, not just to build. When CivIII removed it, I got used to it, but missed the old ways. Having to decide whether I needed another thruster or not was awesome.

    Space Race-Revert good or bad?

Yeah. Hope they make the AIs a little bit better at that, especially considering space race is the only victory they jump at. ;)

    Obsolete Stonehenge Question

    1. Creative is a relatively worthless trait compared to others, IMHO. 2. If playing with AIs on Noble or above, there should be little to no way that Stonehenge is still unbuilt when calender is close. 3. Communication between team members is essential. Make sure you all share a strategy.

    Space Race-Revert good or bad?

Many people by now have read the news that in BTS, the Space Race Victory is going back to the old CivII style game, as opposed to the CivIII and IV w/o BTS style that has been prevelent for a while. Go ahead and vote first, then post your opinions. I personally support the change. CivII made...

What do you want to see next: Civ 5 or a 3rd Expansion?

Civ5, so long as you mean "on the same time frame," ie, 3rd expansion or Civ5 released at around the same time. If you were talking about 3rd expansion soon, or Civ5 in a year or two, I would go expansion. The thing is, there isn't really much to add. Rule tweaks and leader additions can be...
