    The problem is that they can take a city if they are NOT adjacent but are in range (siege units). I had that happen in a recent game too.

    I think I remember hearing that the random leader selection happens before any SDK or Python calls are made, so there is no way to control it (at least no way without a MAJOR effort).     Summons are fun

    One solution, especially for the Sheiam or Balseraph, is slavery. The melee units give you a nice supply of strength 0 units to protect your summoners from assassins.

    Actually, now that you guys mention it, I've seen the dragon's horde once in patch 'a', but I haven't seen the dragon in any 0.30 game.

    A question concerning the Lanun hero

    Yes, that and the taking control of the ships. The ability to take over enemy ships and the hero promotion together make him a dangerous foe in the water. ("a dangerous foe in the water" was written as "allowing [him to] ... exert control of the waves".)

    Meteors destroy equipment too: I cast meteor storm to soften up Barbartos, but the second one got a lucky roll and killed him. I tried to send the third one to start on the city defenses of the nearby barbarian city, but instead of flying over Barbartos' staff, the meteor nuked it instead.

    Did you build Blood of the Phoenix? That is exactly what Blood of the Phoenix is supposed to do. (The BotP version is a one shot immortality, after they die and get reborn they lose the immortal promotion.)
