FfH2 0.30 Bug Thread

On another note, since patch f, I have played about 6 games, and the red dragon has not been built by the barbarians in any of them. I've played barbarian world in most of them, and there were plenty of barbarian cities most of each game. Anyone else notice anything like this?

I haven't seen the dragon in any game in this version either, no matter the patch.
Actually, now that you guys mention it, I've seen the dragon's horde once in patch 'a', but I haven't seen the dragon in any 0.30 game.
 
In my recent game I used the tomb as my healing spot in enemy territory, +25% healing ftw. :P
 
Ever since patch "e" I have never seen the red dragon get built either. He used to arrive pretty promptly on patch "c".
 
i imagine, just a guess, that acherons current demotion to immobile causes the AI to consider him a worthless unit to build in lieu of other things. i haven't seen him either despite cutting several barbarian cities a wide birth to try and encourage them to build him.
 
Maybe Acheron spawning should be an event? Maybe not even included in every game, like many of the new barbarian heroes. This opens up the possibility of even more barbarian hero type heroes.

Or maybe his spawning could be tied to a quest, done by the barbarian civs?
 
just noticed this, my assassins can't seem to make use of neutral roads, i.e. roads in unclaimed territories. is this intended? all other units were able to travel at full speed but the assassins were left in the dust moving as if no roads existed. something hinky on my end? patch e. don't see it mentioned before or in my searches.
 
Edit.... there seems to be a corruption of the temp files.... Windows error report says

C:\DOCUME~1\Rob\LOCALS~1\Temp\5dfc_appcompat.txt

I reloaded from a previous Autosave (about 3 turns prior) and replayed.....

Game crashes at end of turn 347 same as B4

This happened to me for a few days but has gone away. I assumed that one of the patches fixed it ....

Hey guys

I'm new to this site, and just found this AWESOME looking mod. I installed it, followed by the "f" patch, but encountered a problem when testing the game.

I loaded it as a mod through the "advanced" options in BtS, and then tried to set up a custom game. Each time I do this the game crashes after pressing "LAUNCH".

Could anyone help me with this?

It might be because you aren't using BtS 3.13

Or then you have the same problem as I do:

CtD when starting a game, with 3.13 installed
 
Gilden Silveric can't get Blitz. The civilopedia states that you need Drill IV (have it) and Military Strategy tech (have it), and that the promotion is available to; Recon, Archery (check!), Melee, Mounted, Disciple and Beast units. I even got mobility 1 so movement points isn't an issue.
 
Some bugs I reported still unfixed:

- CTD when a player owned HN spider is killed (or just attacked ? The CTD happens at the beginning of the interturn) by a hunter. This doesn't always happen though and I've been unable to reproduce it volountarily, so it needs testing.
- Blight destroys mana buildings and the mana itself (not the node, but the mana type)
- Mana doesen't seem to be destroyed when falling outside borders. I've seen that after summoning Basium, an AI (formerly) Bannor city lost the control of a node, but the mana was still standing there with its improvement.
- elf workers can build lumbermills and can cut jungles without sanitation (is this a bug ?).
 
Patch -f-, playing Sheaim:

Planar Gates stop working when Infernals enter the game. I can still hear the sound but nothing appears.
 
python error, playing patch f as sidar.

also i think there may be an error with hidden, or invisible attack, i was having problems with ghost/shadows attacking. I'l upload a save game if i find it.

I posted this in a separate thread but it probably belongs here.

Boar Riders 6/5 are not buildable when you have access to Chariots 5/3 which are a weaker unit.

Boar Riders, which take 4041 beakers to research, upgrade to Chariots ,which take 1075 beakers to access.

Lots of possible fixes to this, the easiest is having Boar Riders upgrade to War Chariots which will let you be able to build both Chariots and Boar Riders at the same time.

A more comprehensive solution would involve reworking the Boar Rider's place in the tree of unit strengths and abilities.
 
0.30 patch f as Lanun

I cast the withered spell in a city I owned (just because it was highlighted and a new spell to play with) and it gave the withered promotion to all units in my city. There were no enemy units around so this had no benefit, and I could not get rid of the negative promotion.

I could see this promotion improved in a few ways ... making this either:
- castable only on enemy units (either with or without the targeting system from 0.25)
- having a 5% chance of wearing off per turn
- doing a small amount of damage, removed after unit is fully healed

Also, as a balance issue I am looking ahead at the black wind hero unit thinking it might be fun to use a pirate ship, but that the +10 GP per battle thing looks a bit underpowered compared to my bank balance. Think this would be better as +1 or +2 GP per XP point of the defeated ship.
 
Patch F:

I've been noticing that heroes tend to die randomly. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I've seen the notices pop up. 'Basium has created Sphener' and then a few turns later 'Sphener has been killed'. I sent a unit I had on the continent over to investigate, but there were no hostile units around. No wars, no barbarians, nothing that could have killed him. I'll see if I can get a save. Anyone see this problem?

Also, Basium was brought into the world without the infernals.
