    poll: Government type to research

Absolutely correct. We need a modern goverment as soon as possible. But, given that switching governments is something I only like to do once per came, I will advocate becoming a Republic. Feodor Ardent Common Citizen . . . or as common as an immortal citizen can be. :sheep: :sheep...

What level of water coverage should we use?

If we are playing a large map, the less water the better. Sea movement is too slow to keep up with other events in the game. I was playing a game this past week in which the Greeks controlled most of a continent that covered just under half the map, bordering an ocean just about the same...

    Term - 1 Demogame 3 Nominations Tracker

:grad: I'm not running for anything, as I plan to observe and learn from the experts in the opening moves of this game. [pimp] However, if anyone needs an assistant after the election, I am available to serve as a groveling appointee. Feodor :egypt:

Our Civilization Name for Demogame 3 - PART 2

I would prefer to have a name I could repeat to my wife without her giggling knowingly. Possibly we could aim for a little more dignity for those of us with mundane connections? Mind, my wife PLAYS Civ, so she is not a worst case scenario.

    I'm leaving!

Chieftess, you were a solid anchor in many perilous and confusing moments for this Newbie, certainly. I was hoping to see how you handled the ancient times, particularly with an interesting, "Builder's" civ on line. In any case, you have my thanks for your work while I was in the game.

DG3 Discussion - Game customization (using editor)

While it is quite possible for artillery to kill an INDIVDIDUAL or any number of individuals on a battlefield, the lesson of the last century of warfare is that it is almost impossible for bombardment to kill any land UNIT unless that unit is dumb enough to stand up, stand still and let itself...

DG3 Discussion - Game customization (using editor)

To re-emphasize what I noted on another thread, giving bombard units the ability to kill other units completely destroys any resemblance Civ warfare has to real warfare. I used massed artillery for years in Civ II to win games, but that's just because that is what the system leaves you. As...

DG3 Discussion - Game customization (using editor)

Not that we’ll be able to reflect this in the Demogame (I’m working on an article on the topic, though) but I’ll respectfully disagree with you. I think you are mixing the tactical and strategic concepts. :grad: :grad: :grad: :scan: Not usually true. In both world wars, the armor...

DG3 Discussion - Game customization (using editor)

I believe they were only refering to Radar Artillery, which is at least a step in the right direction. Both mechanized infantry and truck-towed/self propelled artillery were invented at the same time as the panzer division. Both should have the same movement as the armor they support.
