I'm a religous guy. Those temples are a very good way to expand borders and gobble up resources that are around in the early game. It's also good for those Cathedrals that help me stay out of civil disorder and add even more culture.
I also like being able to switch out of Democracy for a...
I have had the same problem d-loading from the infogrames website. It just send me to an error screen. I wonder if we're the only ones or if it's a universal problem.
Personally, I don't use either one. I have used the marine but in the end, it was guarding a captured city anyway, making an infantry or mech more useful to me. Since I usually only build airports in my big mainland cities, paratropers (which I have never used) aren't of any use to me. I also...
I don't know if I'm the only one, but I hated that there wasn't a sentry comand. And all the other stuff sounds good too (especially the anti-flipping) :goodjob:.
I wouldn't go as far to say WAY better (I even voted fo Civ 2 as the better game on a poll that was out I don't know how long ago :P). I am also not saying that Civ 3 is awful. I just don't like the amount of bugs that it came with. I also think (as many oters do) that it should have ben...
When you sell you tech or LRs (I suggest against trading SRs), try to get gold per turn instead of a lump sum. In the long run, you end up getting more money and you can set your science rate to 100% and still be making money. Exploiting other empires is great
I hate haing to use the whip :whipped:. It kills too many people for what you're gtting out of it. This is a reason that in my last game, I stuck with monarchy in my last game even through the age of democracy. I had full power to declare wars whenever I pleased w/o worry of those damn war...
Play on a harder level, and then the AI will find a way to take those cities. Challenging yourself is always more fun. Then, infantry won't be enough to take cities. You will get to experience the trill of a tank war.
The only problem with a modern war is deciding what to do with the big cities you capture from a fairly strong empire. To raze it means you're wasting the possibility of a very productive city. To keep it means you're probably going to get deposed a few times. <sigh> decisions decisions.
I personally like units with the higher offensive values because I am a warry type of player. The Iriquois mounted warrior is very good for those early wars and it helps you get that big empire early (big empire= less trouble w/ SRs). I also like the German Panzers. Tanks are great but extra...
Scenarios in the Civ 2 sense of cities already set up and such, can't be done in Civ 3.
To make a mod, you go to the editor. It's not very hard but if you want to make a lot o changes (especially consistent ones) it can be time consuming.
