Status update:
After reading through the discussion with Hafenguy about the same issue in the General Discussion thread, I tried loading the mod after starting vanilla BtS (which I didn't know was something you could actually do), and was able to get the mod to work. I can't comment on why he's...
I was actually able to figure out a solution - adding underscores to "RFC Dawn of Civilization" for both the folder and the shortcut made it work. So I'm going to chalk this up to a Windows 11 issue.
EDIT: Nevermind, it crashes when loading the map. Going to have to find something else.
Unless there's supposed to be a separate .exe file for DoC itself in the mod's folder, yes, everything seems to be there, within the folder "RFC Dawn of Civilization".
The install path for BtS is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword
The path for DoC specifically is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\RFC Dawn of Civilization
That's what's in the "Target:" line, right? If so, then what it points to is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod=\RFC Dawn of Civilization
Is that correct? If not, what should it be?
Got a new laptop recently, did a clean install of the Steam version of BtS (3.19 patch, switched to the "beta" of the original version) and DoC, launching the game for the first time from the installer went fine, but clicking the desktop icon brings up the error message "Mods\RFC\ is an invalid...
Also from the latest git - the third Incan goal (control 90% of South America's population by 1775 AD) is currently set to "by" rather than "in", meaning that they clear the goal as soon as they finish their initial conquests.
A quick sweep of the other civs' goals have uncovered other...
Latest git version - Indonesia starts with its first goal (most populated civ in 1300 AD) already completed. Bug exists in both 3000 BC and 600 AD starts.
False. In terms of determining periphery population, there is no difference between Historical and Contested, and no difference between Foreign and Foreign Core. In fact, the only difference between Historical and Contested, and between Foreign and Foreign Core, is that Contested and Foreign...
No. The Deccan region is completely outside of Buddhism's spread map - as it has been ever since the current religion spread rules were first implemented.
By "Greece proper", are you referring to Greece as a whole, or just Athens? Because if the former, then the Statue of Zeus would also apply, having been built in Olympia in real life. In the current map, the closest city to that would be Sparta, and no player would found a city there unless...
