Brave New World, the game - but who has read the book

Haven't read the book, but I've heard it's pretty good. I'd pick it up but I already have so many other books I need to read already I don't want to just add another one to the collection.

Speculation ~ BNW New Units (For All Civs)

    Greek fire comes to mind.

    natural wonders in bnw

As some one from Michigan, I'd love to see the great lakes (aka the only lakes that matter!) as a natural wonder. doubt it would ever make it in though.

New civ linked to new resource

Rice isn't just the backbone of Asian nations, but many Western nations as well. Since it could be grown in such high yields, and was a sort of "stuffing" for foods, it was distributed really easily to the west. In Europe it was often used and eaten by the poor, simply because it could be...

New civ linked to new resource

don't want to get off topic, but I don't think that's what he was saying. In a way though, water really is privatized. Many people pay water bills, which really is used to pay for sewage, and distribution of clean water, etc, but it's not like you can go with out paying it and every thing is...

Is Venice the mysterious 'Pro'-Civ? Is it designed as OCC-variant?

To me, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You would essentially be playing a city state, but with a few extra perks to go along with it. It also seems odd that they would spend a great deal of time developing and working on a civilization, which only a small portion of the players would play...

    Which Ideology will you choose?

depends on how I'm playing, but I'm a fan of autocracy.

Speculation ~ BNW New Units (For All Civs)

They could also give a stronger pillage (takes twice amount of time to restore pillaged area by a flamethrower unit), and could possibly clear jungle tiles (which I believe units move slower through, right?).

    [Discussion] Great Admiral

I think a UA which gave a boost to building ships in connected tiles would be useful for a great admiral, and additionally being able to give bonus damage to naval units within a radius of the great admiral as well. ships in general are kind of lack luster; unless your playing on a map which...

Speculation ~ BNW New Units (For All Civs)

I personally enjoy the idea of future units and future stuff, and don't understand why others aren't. I mean, on one hand it's cool to see an ancient civilization which has vanished in our time still kicking around, but on the other for some countries we already know and have come to accept...

    Your first BNW game

Since it seems like this expansion is going to make the game "complete", I plan on running my endless game on the launch of BNW. I'll be calling it 'Roma Eterna', playing Rome and just seeing how it progresses/turns out. Unless of course a new civ is announced that I really, really want...

    BNW resources poll

Pigeons were, and still are eaten today (Squab). Never had it my self, but I've heard that it's good.

Do you like the way Civ5 portraits the diffrent nations?

I really don't care for the idea of shoehorning in female leaders just for the sake of including them, as I think it's an insult to some of the real true great female leaders we've had in the world. Other than that, I don't really care how realistic they are portrayed. I've had some games...
