(POLL) In which difficulty level do you find the balance between enjoyable and challenging?

I voted deity but only with a decent civ. I win about half the time of those. Would say immortal with a weak civ.

    Deity

To be fair this problem has appeared in every civ game although I find it worse in civ6. I find deity challenge is only hard at the start/early midgame. Then because the AI has horrible city management skills it is significantly easier later. Also because they start with with something like...

    When to stop founding cities?

A luxury provides 1 amenity to 4 cities. If you build more cities the amenities distribution will cover less of them

    When to stop founding cities?

As much as civ6 favours going wide I rarely build cities at industrial and later. They are useful even if they have only a few tiles of quality land but my point is that if there is decent terrain available you should grab it sooner than later. The earlier you build a city the more return you...

    Observation Balloons

It only works with units that have "bombard strength" that is bombards, artillery, rocket artillery. In theory bombers too but I havent tested. Battleships, missile cruisers, field cannons have "ranged strength" and doesnt apply Imho 1 balloon is a must. Really useful because you can avoid...

    Deity

I would be interested in what the civfanatics think about deity play. So far I've beaten it with strong civs in the usual science/domination way. I did won a religious one with Poland which was surprisingly easy. It feels a bit easy but only because of two mechanics/cheats I shamefully use...

    Civ VI reviews on Steam

The reviews in steam are quite accurate imho. I am still holding my negative review and the rating of mixed is correct The main reason is the price. Being a massive civ player fan since Civ1 I preorder the deluxe game for 60£. I got an unfinished unbalanced game. I played four games from...

    Anyone else quit playing?

Yes I quitted after a few weeks although I did play 50 hours. I won every game I played even on deity and felt the game was boring. The AI and balance issues killed the game for me. Considering how expensive this game was I hope they can fix it or I willll think twice before buying another...

    Why BNW?

not only adds content but also rebalances the game significantly. It is a must.

Do you plan on playing Civ5 after Civ6 comes out?

after dropping 50h in civ6 I am back to 5 It feels so nice to be in a polished game again and compared to civ6 the AI actually doesnt seem too bad i even installed again civ3 and civ4. I found the graphics of civ4 a bit outdated. but I actually like the graphics of civ5 more than the latest...

    Is AI really brain dead?

I was loving this game when I got into it because there are many good things in it. I like the general game design and mechanics. The music is fantastic and it looks generally polished . However once I scratched the surface I don't want to really play it more at this point. The main reason is...

    AI difficulty bonuses

I think it is quite remarkable for the AI to be able to lose with 3 settlers 2 builders 80% bonus on deity. I mean you have to actively try to lose therefore it is a sophisticated AI , I don't think a human could lose with that!

Does Civ 6 have the potential to surpass Civ 4?

It is only 1 week after release. The game looks good for a release but the more I play the more the cracks start to appear. There is a lot of faith in Firaxis fixing the issues but the reality is that we don't know if they will do it or not

Does Civ 6 have the potential to surpass Civ 4?

Even although civ6 at launch it is better than civ5 at launch I am still skeptikal. When Civ5 came out I was convinced it was impossible to surpass Civ4. I won it in deity and went back to civ4 thinking what a pile of rubbish Somehow with BNW they managed to miracously fixed it and to my great...
