i got it to work... was the display drivers in the end... thanks to all that helped me... sorry if i wasted too much of your time... but i didnt think.... :P hehe neways.... catchas.. im too busy playing..
fellas... i HAD the same problem as you.. just a guess... u can kill me later maybe... but do you have ati graphics cards? look heres what fixed it for me.. i downloaded the display drver.... and it works fine now.... dont get stressed... loads every time... as soon as it gets to done.. it...
uhm it doesnt mate.. thanks for trying but.. what my problem is.. i cant start a new game... on the loading screen for any game... it gets to done and crashes..
well.. my computer is fixed.. BUT it still doesnt load properly.. it gets to done on the load screen... a few more tips flash by... then the game crashes.... i dont get the error message anymore sincemy $mft is fixed.. but i still get the same no playing civ 4 problem... can anyone help? i wanna...
ok... well... ive been getting the chkdsk thing come up when i boot for about 3 months now or possible more... i forget really. uhmmm it used to go through the whole check... but since i installed civ 4 really is when i noticed it ****ed up... maybe i got a bad installation or something? :S
alright well i did the "chkdsk c: /F" and pressed Y and rebooted... only to find out that my computer does that every time i boot it up... and i always get the same unspecified error whilst checking the indexes... and it goes to windows... but when i do is in the DOS thingo.. it finds lots of...
right well my specs.. radeon 9200 SE.. 512 DDR ram... amd athlon 1800+ clocked out to 1.5GHz... my operating system... you mean like... windows xp or something? cos if you do... its XP pro
when i go to start a game it loads.. and gets to done... but it doesnt go any further. and then it closes and an error comes up.. saying The file or Directory C:\$Mft is corrupt and Unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk Utility. and ive run the Chkdsk utility and it still comes up with the error...
