QFT. We'll see if their decision has any consequences. Time will tell.

    Patch 1.0.1.332 : Mac version ?

Ah, alright. I think it's possible that prior to 2006, there was a delay in when Blizzard ported games over to Macs. Now, obviously, everything is streamlined together. I suppose it doesn't matter, haha -- my memory isn't my strongest feature.

    Patch 1.0.1.332 : Mac version ?

What Blizzard does is an investment. They've been doing it since 2006 (I think) -- a time when Macs had an even smaller market-share (they even back-tracked and made all their past games Mac-compatible). They saw the writing on the wall then with Mac market-share and jumped on it. Most gaming...

Anyone playing both Civ4 and Civ5?

Sadly, this will likely be my resolution as well.

Anyone playing both Civ4 and Civ5?

Somewhat. Because there's no hotseat for Civ5, I'll play Civ4 with my gf on occasion, though we haven't gotten around to it in the last month.

Civilization "Depth" - A Civ 4 vs. Civ 5 Comparison

That's a semantical way of viewing it though -- those penalties are "immediate" in a very real sense, especially when dealing with the delayed policy. So while it's not a hard penalty in the sense that it was in Civ4, it does change how you will play the rest of the game and what victory...

Civilization "Depth" - A Civ 4 vs. Civ 5 Comparison

I think the idea is that more people are good at Civ 5 because it's easier. It's less complicated on a turn by turn basis and the AI is MUCH weaker at comparative difficulty levels. The desired result is that Civ 5 should be open to a wider audience...the lasting result is that the game will...

Civilization "Depth" - A Civ 4 vs. Civ 5 Comparison

I think the victories heavily funnel through the one unit per title game design. In Civ 4, if the AI was stronger, the stack of doom owned you and that was all there was to it. In Civ 5, the AI can be 5x stronger than me and I can crush them easily as I watch them haplessly move their troops in...

    Cultural Expansion Doesn't Work

Randomness is a euphemism for lack of strategy in this case. The devs want the game to be more casual and that's why we can't control the culture spread.

Civilization "Depth" - A Civ 4 vs. Civ 5 Comparison

My main issue with Civ 5 is that most of my games feel identical in terms of strategy -- even worse, regardless of the Civ I use, not much changes. OP, I didn't read your entire article and only skimmed some of this thread, but it's difficult for me to relate to anyone who sincerely believes...

    Civilization tier list

Well, in all my testing, it still feels like NC combined with liberty, leading to early aggression on a neighbor is the best starting option for any victory path. Looking through that lens, the early settler is a luxury, not a necessity -- all that matters is getting to meritocracy. If you get...

    Civilization tier list

Agreed, I don't understand all the love for France. Oppositely, I don't understand the lack of love for Greece.

The All Leaders Challenge Game Bullpen

Haha, I loved SC2. I played it from release in July through November non-stop. I was top-15 Diamond, but I think I'm getting too old for RTS games (it would seriously stress me out...I'd only be able to play like two matches at a time before I needed a mental break). It's a completely different...
