Is there a chance Persia will win the vote? They are an AI after all and AI's get to positions of power much like you do, through death and destruction. That tends to leave behind alot of ticked off people.

If you're bugged about the fact that Persia has alot of gold and techs, just buy it from them. You have two luxuries they don't have and they have a descent sized empire which means they'll pay a good sum for them. You might not get both of the techs but you can probably go a long way towards...

I play Civ II, Alpha Centauri and Civ III. I win in Civ II at King, in Alpha Centauri at Trancend and in Civ III I just moved up to Emperor level from Regent, I'm trying out GOTM 16 with Rome and I'm doing pretty well so far. @ Rellin: I used to dislike the fact that the AI gets bonuses too...

Certainly looks very nice, but there's jungle there to the south and jungle always travels in packs. And Scandinavia isn't an industrious civ.

When you think about it, the odds aren't that bad of it making through three turns. 1 turn: 1 to 2 2 turns: 1 to 4 3 turns 1 to 8 4 turns 1 to 16 and so on.

CtP II had "reduce nuclear weapons by x percent" treaty. Too bad diplomacy in CtP sucked, otherwise it would have been a nice option to have.
