A quick question: how does the propaganda espoinage option work? I know that if the target civ is a democracy it doesn't work (right?), but do you have to be at war with a civ before you can use propaganda? And, since I've never been able to use it: is the propaganda option a useful one, or...

    Civ4 Lounge & Ideas

Some suggestions for a new Civ: There should be an option, in military alliances for 'liberating' other countries (if you sign up for a 'liberation alliance', any city you capture from the enemy that belonged to you ally automatically flips back to them). There should also be more demands...

anarres, So, if the other civ is still making money and I ask for a lot less than I make already in a turn, there is a chance they'll pay?

new facist and feudilisam gov trates?

This is perhaps going a bit far back in the thread, but: I'm pretty sure that there are two fasces on the podium in the US Congress--certainly a reference to its origingal, Roman meaning (the authority of a state that based itself in part on the Roman Republic). Just a passing observation...

I had a question about peace deals. When I've captured a lot of enemy cities, I always get a chance to ask for stuff in exchange for peace. What seems very strange to me, though, is that the losing civ never agrees to give gold per turn (even if it's willing to give me a city or two). I know...

I was hoping someone could give me (or tell me where to find) a quick run-down of the different defense bonuses on different terrain types (with and without a fortress). Thanks.

    Medieval Army Troubles

Wow. A lot of advise. First off, I don't have a save of the game (unfortunately). Secondly, I usually get outo f ancient times havnig more or less successfully fought a war (destroying or crippling the attacking civ). I end up, though, with the usual econmic problems: not enough money to...

    Medieval Army Troubles

Maybe it would be best to describe what happens to me in the Middle Ages: even if I'm lucky enough to have cities in bottlenecks, even if I defend those cities as well as I can (with pikemen) and fill it with offensive units (knights, etc) that I send out either to attack their cities or couter...

    Medieval Army Troubles

Counter-attacking with knights would work, I imagine, if even I could keep enough of them--but I always have money troubles by this time can never seem to have as many units as the attacking civ can throw at me...

    Medieval Army Troubles

I always have trouble fighting off other civs when they discover feudalism--I'll be doing fine defending myself throughout the ancient world, but once a civ comes at me with knights and medieval infantry, I always seem to get crushed, even if I have pikemen in my cities. Is there a defensive...
