Really doesn't help either that their response was basically "our mistake, your problem." I've worked a bunch of retail jobs and if we were responsible for the customer buying the wrong product we would offer up something as compensation, even if it was entirely inadequate for the problem at hand.

Not, its just the regular/deluxe edition of the game that you can buy on a physical disc like many other games. It came out as a physical release for all current gen consoles.

Spices, Sugar, Tea, and Chocolate that are on islands that you can only get to after crossing deep ocean will generate treasure fleets in my experience even they aren't on distant lands continents, whether that's a bug or not, who knows.

Got a final reply from the support rep after I closed out my bug report. It appears the official line from Firaxis at this point is "Sorry for leaving out this very important detail but, please, don't stop giving us money." Sorry Firaxis but I am not spending any more money on your games.

What, specifically, is being acknowledged there? That the game isn't being recognized as being owned or that this is preventing people from upgrading their game? I was explicitly told that you can't upgrade physical versions of the game and, if that isn't true, it needs to explicitly stated by...

Yeah, but they basically said there isn't anything they, as an individual, could do about it. If Firaxis is aware of the issue with the physical discs but this is still the reply I got then I'm still not going buy the upgrade or keep playing the game. I filed a bug report with Firaxis/2K and got this reply two days ago.

And it turns out that the upgrades are only available for the digital edition, not physical. Certainly not spending any more money on Civ7 and I'll probably just stop playing the game after I finish what I've already started. Kind of hard to not feel like this is some bizarre scam to get people...

If you have the tutorial on, when you complete part of a legacy path it asks if you want to keep tracking it and if you say no then it unchecks the box, so it probably has something to do with that.

I've played for about 30 hours so far and have had about half a dozen crashes on the PS5 and was wondering if anyone else is having a similar experience.

I bought the deluxe, physical edition of Civ7 but apparently you can only buy the upgrades if you own the digital edition on PS5. This was not mentioned in the FAQ on the Civ site and was wondering if this is an error or not.

Seriously, the text is borderline unreadable on the large setting. I've got a 50" TV and I don't think I sit that far away from it and, again, I've got a lot of problems reading the basically all of the text outside of a few menus (pause, diplomacy).
