For al the games played I always accpeted the map given.
I think a less then brilliant spot is still a chalange to see how far you can get with the game.
Civ's in real life also can't resign and "play again", Play the cards you are dealt.
If it means an earrly defeat, Make em pay for your skin...
Actually... It is not nessesary to Cntr-click.
You can instead dubble klick for trade and ALT-click for War.
So just dubble klick to go to trade.
And no there is no question -Are uou sure- Instant war. (just ad water ;) )
In the right bottom of the main window, there you have (or can) dispay all the nations you have met.
ALT-klick on a Civ and see what happens.... instant war. :D
being a lurker at this forum since C-IV released I have seen a number of different complaints about the game roll by.
Some of the recurrent complaints I recognized myself - being somewhat of a warlord level gamer in the game - boils down to the the "windows looks".

And sometimes you can open up red options by doing some more piplomacy.
In my current game I am flanked by frist the Japanese and then the Russians.
The Japanese were making some attempt at starving my civ from some deseretly nedded resources.
