My suspicion is that they added a new modifier to their behaviour...i.e The Great Warlord leader type. Now they get rewarded for warring in an additional manner and that makes their desire to war just that much greater.
I've seen many screenshots with the number of turns for production and growth in quotes next to the City Name...Is there a way to enable this in the default, or does it require a mod? If it is a mod, what is the name and does it work with GoTM? Thanks!
I'm not 'stcuk', but I don't feel as if I have mastered Monarch yet...
I still lose some and occasionally I'm at a loss how to start most efficiently...I guess I'm still just learning at Monarch. Once I feel I have it under control(better than 75% win rate) then I'll move on to Emperor.

I voted Cossacks...They provide a transitional advantage even when other Civs are at parity technologically. Also, I struggle more in midgame than I do at the start(when fast workers and praetorians really shine).
Montezuma is insane. He will literally zerg you from a tiny shared border like a madman. He has no chance of winning, but sacrifices himself to force you to stop him...And you can't capture his cities, since they are on the otherside of the world and would bankrupt you to capture. He drives...
For me, Emperor is all about sniping a worker from someone and getting him back home. I'm not consistent at all on Emperor yet, but my wife is getting there(I'd say she is at over 75% wins, but I'm wallowing at maybe 1 in 8 wins)...She swears by the worker theft method and prefers to skip...
