I played only once on chieftain, and after that i moved onto noble level. after wining few games on noble i moved to prince. Now that's where i started to learn the game mechanics. Didn't play warlord tho, but i figured out that on settler and chieftain levels u can almost automate everything...
Been there :) He'll attack u no matter how advanced are u and he just likes to build army. Nowadays I tend to get rid of him first if he's my neighbor even if 200% friendly.
