Ok I'm completely stumped. I've been editing C3C. My text in the civilopedia or about anywhere for that metter has the double quotation mark throughout it.
First all my text files are opening in excel spreadsheet format, I'm assuming this is whats suppossed to happen. That means all the text...
I made most of the changes yesterday. Finished the text files today and did several test runs.
You are correct about the placement of those icons in the resources.pcx file in relation to their set up location in the .BIX file. Once I deleted the strat resources I had set up and began putting...
I had put the luxuryicons_small.pcx in the city screen folder. I have done some testing this morning, the original luxiry icons appear correctly. The sugar luxury was the first luxury I added to the mod.. I have added copper as a strategic resource.
Isak I do not understand what you mean by...
I have added the luxury icons file to the city view folder so as to have the icons show up in the luxury box in the city view. I am off on something though as the new luxury item I added to the game shows a different icon in the city view. That is I added sugar to the mod I'm working on.. it...
I see where the max number of civs will be 31 in PTW. Anyone heard if the max number of cities will be removed or increased at least. I use a computer with a 2 gig processor and play on map sizes over 200 by 200 all the time. The time between turns isn't much at all. If we can play PTW with 31...
In a game I was playing pre-patch on Regent level I had just progressed into the modern times. My corruption was very high as through conquest I was around 50+ cities. I had never used the wealth feature as I read in the manual or civpedia that it was 8 sheilds to 1 gold, thus I figured it was...
I see that corruption effects have been lowered, and police stations now reduce corruptions. That's fine.
As I understand it though corruption and waste are two different parts of the game. I did not read anywhere in the patch list any fixes to waste, what I did read was they are removing the...
In the trade advisor screen, when you scroll over the icons for outgoing trade goods a pop up window states who the item is going to. Not sure how much programming it would take but adding to the pop up would be very helpful. e.g. "horses to Egyptians for 5 more turns".
I've yet to figure out...
I bought EU and very much enjoy it. At this point though all my playing time is going to Civ 3. But when EU 2 arrives in December I think it is, I plan on buying it. :D
I believe naval bombardments of land units does "splash damage". Not sure on on other naval units.
As for land units I am almost certain I have seen artillery do damage to more than one unit with a successful hit. Not 100% certain tho. I'll check on that though as I'm in the middle of wiping...
Vrylakas,
I agree that the US is always uprepared for War with the exception of the Gulf War. The military establishment new decades ago and thus began planning for the eventual war for oil in the Middle East. Not saying it was right or wrong just wanted to point out the military was very well...
It is just going to be military leaders correct? Not sure why but it seems like I read they were debating a leader for another aspect of the game.
If they are military, it would be nice to have the opportunity to get one every so often. For example the English might get John Smith at one point...
Just watched the creen saver. I too also hope that was made to demonstrate the animations etc. and does not reflect the AI.
I think I read on their new site about combat formations or something about improved combat. At the time it sounded like they had added more challenge to the AI approach...
Tough choice at this point. I imagine I'll start with the Greeks or French see how that works, then try a religious one and watch how it effects culture. I think for me I'll end up playing a couple civs that have completely different abilities to learn what they offer then through preocess of...
