    Sentry

Well I'm just comparing it to Civ 2, and I'm pretty sure it works the same. If a unit comes within 1 square of the sentry (either attacking or just passing through) it wakes up and will be in your pile of units to be moved next turn. If not, it just waits as if fortified (without the bonus). It...

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

Doh! I think you're right. Otherwise couldn't a vanilla nuke sub carry cruise as it has this enabled as standard! I don't think a cruise missile is a "missile" in civ 3. I think it's a weird artillery unit.

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

How are they changed in C3C, what's different? That's not a problem. Nuclear subs would then still be useful, as you can't park a nuke packing destroyer outside someone's capitol and wait, without them complaining. A sub however... I just love knowing that they have no idea that 3...

    Sentry

So you're syaing that after your first turn he moves up to you, after your second he attacks and you survive, and then on your third it's active? Or are you saying that he moves up and attacks in one turn?

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

When did they get better? Is that in PTW or C3C? Also, where abouts can I set the tactical missile flag? In Civ2 it was nice and simple, hopefully it's easy in Civ3 too!

Could someone explain the scientist and taxmen thing in the cities to me?

Thanks, that's the answer I was looking for. More science from a scientist makes more sense, because otherwise there's no point having them.

    Sentry

The sentry command is in PTW. I don't know if it doesn't work as it used to in civ 2, I thought it did.

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

Is there a way to mod civ to do this?

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

ICBM cannot be moved, but since it can hit any square on the board it doesn't matter (until that city gets captured :) ) Conpletely illogically a cruise cannot be loaded onto a sub or a carrier. In fact AFAIK apart from this transport glitch there's no way to get them across seas. Stupid if...

    Difference between Attitude and Rep?

Is there anyway to get a measure of this besides trying to make trades? Also, is there anyway to recoever a bad rep? I seem to remember the eiffel tower doing this in either civ2 or ctp. It seems like something you need to keep an eye on. Also, the AI must get itself a terrible rep, it's...

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

In some kind of pontoon way? Sounds dodgy.

    Help with Temples?

Yeah, I have noticed that. AFAIK the 8 squares surrounding the city will definately belong to that city unless they are also part of the 8 squares surrounding the next city (Then for some reason it goes one way or the other). The reason that a non 8 square will not become yours must depend on...

Could someone explain the scientist and taxmen thing in the cities to me?

I have a quesiton. Does using a scientist generate any more science than using a taxman and spending the extra money on civ-wide science? Or are they just used for tweaking the balance on a city by city basis?

    Help with Temples?

They're the cheapest and first improvement which generates culture. I use them all the time in every city to quickly expand the city radius to grab as much territory as possible. When I'm filling in the gaps they're not so useful though. The happiness is just a nice side effect when I play...

    Cruise Missiles ?!?

Can you do that now? I'm pretty sure that in vanilla civ3 you couldn't load them in transports, which meant that they couldn't be transported off a continent. Very annoying the first time I found that out, I was stuck with lots of missiles and no one to shoot them at! Logically they should be...
