I do not understand the point of this unit at all. They have a short window to be (slightly) useful in the atomic era then become worthless. They have less range than archers and have piss poor damage. The range reduction on modern combat units was always something I hated in Civ V and modded...

I don't think such an option is needed; rather, science should just be slowed as a balance tuning in a patch.

I'd love for there to be an religious spy type unit that could embark on suicidal jihad terrorism or something. That would be hilarious, and it wouldn't even be out of place consideirng Beyond Earth had the dirty bomb. Generally speaking, there really needs to be more ways to spread religion.
