    Little questions & answers thread

I remember having the same thing happened to me: barbarian ship blocked me from finishing an urban building, and I couldn't build anything at all until I finished that one.

What's the tile between gypsum and your city? If it's an urban district without any buildings, you have to finish at least 1 building in it first.

    Civ Discussion - Inca

What I like about Inca is that either you can pick Pachacuti to ensure mountains nearby if you want a good Inca game, or you may simply roll a good mountain start with any civ/leader, so that Inca becomes a good strategic pick.

    Civ Discussion - Inca

I'm not sure, but don't leaders have their own starting bias? (E.g. natural wonders for Isabella) If so, one can increase the chance for mountains by picking Pachacuti.

What's your opinion on civ switching?

What's funny is that it really is Civilization's (franchise's) fault that people perceive civilizations as agents for history-inspired role playing, and refuse to embrace a different, arguably more truthful implementation, where civilizations fall and rise anew, under new banners and with new...

It happens. Don't worry about it, they don't always take proper advantage of their yields, especially in the modern age.

Did Civ 5 have any decent competitors back then? Aside from Civ 4 obviously

Player stats, sales, and reception speculation thread

Thank you. This looks much more reasonable than comparing number of posts about a 9 yo game vs a 6 months old game. Civ 7 has 60% of Civ 6's average number of posts per month, which is much better than what someone tried to prove.

    Same problem with numbers tbh

What's your opinion on civ switching?

I disagree. Leaders provide mostly generic bonuses, i.e. +X yield. Civilizations often have more interesting bonuses. If we switched leaders instead, we would have very generic civ bonuses, as well as UU/UB only relevant for a particular age. In addition, there wouldn't be a way to find a...

I assume this is lifetime statistics? If so, could you please divide each number by the number of months since each game's release to get numbers we could reasonably compare?

Player stats, sales, and reception speculation thread

Occasionally I take a glimpse of recent Civ 7 reviews, and to my surprise, a significant portion of negative reviews is published by players with 30+ hours of playtime. And I agree that most negative reviews are either useless ("civ 6 is great, this one is bad", "humankind is better", etc.) or...

I think they'll most likely do a Civ 5 future era edition for 30$ which will include new graphics, network code and bugfixes, as well as a new dlc pack for Civ 5 for 30$. This is a win-win for them: in addition to earning some needed money for less effort, they'll also make players jump from old...

What's your opinion on civ switching?

Regarding colonies, I think the issue with them in Civ 6 is that there aren't enough bonuses for colonial settlements. There are some policies, but they don't do enough to encourage colonization as a strategy. One could mention luxury resource diversity, but the same thing is possible on the...

Yesterday Civ 7 had 20 positive reviews and 9 negative reviews. I know one day is nothing, but it's the first day in a while where positive reviews have a significant upper hand!
