As the title says, what turn (or range) does the HG usually get built. I don't really build it that often and I keep getting beat to the punch.
It may be a good idea to have a thread that has all of the normal build times for the early wonders just for a reference. I realize build times...
It depends. If you say "Never give a human player lump sum gold" I consider that removing a "feature". If you say do not give lump sum gold away to an untrustworthy player then I consider that a change in the way the AI handles diplomacy. Some people prefer to play peaceful games where they...
I agree with the issues you've listed.
1. Yes, you are correct. The AI does not realize that an earlier investment pays off more than a late investment.
2. Yes, the AI does not factor in the possibility of a trade to be broken.
I disagree with the conclusions you make. These can be...
I can see a few options:
1) A destroyed lux/resource does not break the deal. The resource receiving player can either still receive the benefits or not. Regardless, if the resource is repaired the selling player doesn't get the resource to resell because the deal is still in progress. Or...
The ranged bonuses still show in green for the rifleman but they are not used when calculating the combat strength. I think someone posted a pic of that in this thread.
I would agree but I don't think it would help too well if it was an Archipelago map. With such a small land mass and only one neighbor there probably won't be as much opportunity to level up the chariot archers. It still may save you some cash in the end though. I don't know if its more cost...
A couple of things...
1) How do you determine the production limit? Is it city based? Population based? Both? I've never hit it or if I have, haven't noticed it.
2) Which video is the next video where you address the barracks?
3) Not sure why but my browser likes to crash when I'm in your...
The same is true for culture bombs. In one game I was waiting for the utopia project to finish and I generated a great artist. I wanted to see how the Culture bomb worked and I guess I got a little too close to a city state because it caused them to DOW me.
Do you do any puppeting when you normally go for a science victory? When I try to take the peaceful route I don't generate that much gold or science and I find myself falling behind.
Also, when is the approximate cutoff era where scientists should build academies vs save to pop techs?
Yea that's what this turned out to be though it wasn't what I was aiming for. I would prefer Option 4 from the list I posted. I think having a unit that can attack both ranged and melee is more realistic and I don't think it would be overly powerful. Especially with a negative ranged attack...
There is a little steam popup on the bottom left side of your screen. When you first start Civ there is a little popup that says something like "Press Shift+Tab while in-game to access Steam" or something like that. The notification will come up there and go away shortly.
I was reading some threads on here and I read that Rome usually gets a starting position with iron and the same for the Incans and hills. Where can I find a list of the starting bias for each Civ in the game?
