Does anyone know the formula for district cost?

Apparently, here, by /u/Dynamic526 - at least that's the first time I've seen the completed formula. KrikkitTwo also has a big formula thread on the forums here.

Is anyone else disappointed by the quotes for Techs/Wonders?

Especially the delivery. Sean Bean delivers them straight, making them sound more like gallows humour than a flippant remark. This said, the quotes are not bad, I just wish they used their clever system of random quotes and expanded it a bit more to allow for more variation in tone and...

    Fixing District Escalation Cost

Having the heater district as early "research" district (for the civics tree) would also encourage people to follow civics more, which tend to lack behind as they seem to have less easily triggered inspirations than the tech eurekas. Would feel more historical as well.

    MadDjinns Tech tree (mod)

Interesting, got to keep an eye on it. I'm still trying to fully wrap my had around vanilla before I try out mods, but it seems to address the main concerns I have at this point (the era long jumps through techs).

    Poor interface

Haven't had the chance to check it myself, but somebody on reddit had a look through the files and it looks like there are a lot of to-do comments in the UI files. Looks like they literally ran out of time and rather aimed for something that's working. The upside is, of course, that it means...

Progress trees should definately be merged

Having them separate is quite nice, to be honest. The linearity is much more problematic within the trees themselves. The civic tree is kind of ok, but tech tree feels sparse and not very interconnected - feels like there are roughly three parallel tracks there that could do with a lot more...

    No hatepocalypse? I'm almost disappointed!

I think part of the reason is also that the major linchpin for Civ5 was 1UPT and its cascading effect on the game design. Many Civ6 decisions kind of double down on these decisions (builders fit the 1UPT paradigm much better than workers, so do districts, theological combat, the gimmicky GP...

    Projects: worth it?

Same here, they can really win GP point races. Additionally, it's actually quite a good "default" option because in specialised science/gold/culture cities, the production is abysmal late game, making building units kind of a no-go and it's better than building random districts that the city...

    My first game and impressions

Only realised that in my second game but it's unknown because you have no information about them by default. You need to use delegations, embassies, trade routes and spies to gain that information - the more of these you have, the more precise information you get. I quite like that information...

Do You Like the New Movement Rules?

Overall, yes, apart from scouts. They feel too immobile and chasing barbarian scouts is a pain because of the movement model. I don't mind the challenge it brings but chasing the same unit for five turns gets old fast.

Pacing issues - does tech accelerate for others?

It allows you to slingshot past half an era, too. In all games I've played so far, I see early industrial age progression with a single tech touching the era and the rest waaaay back. It's really annoying because era sets the great people and warmongering penalty, shortcircuiting a lot of...

    My first game and impressions

Finished a full game and played around with other starts for a bit. Overall, I quit like it, lots of good ideas, definitely a very complete feeling Civ. Districts and the overall relevancy of the map are great. I actually enjoy how useful gold is now, making buying stuff genuinely a requirement...

About The Graphics of Civ VI

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the art direction in general, especially with some of the leaders and, my pet peeve, the bland terrain (especially forests, everything's a loose pine forest!?). Nevertheless, the sheer detail, animation and consistent execution makes me respect it a lot. It's too well...

    Firaxis Flat Earthers

CivIV didn't have a globe either, it was a flat map that was just warped when you zoomed out. Additionally, CivVI embraces the "antique map" theme with the fog of war and on top of that, there's the much more complex lighting that's clearly made for a flat map. I thin between art direction, the...

    Full Price Beta

Reading that... I think the game isn't so much "unfinished" (as in not being complete) and more "unpolished" - lacking that attention to detail to make it really shine (exempting the graphics, they are really full of detail an polish).
