Now, following an upgrade of my Parallels on Catalina, I can run my 32 bit PC version OK where previously it was flaky. I presume Parallels must convert any 32 bit commands which are still permitted in Win10 to 64 bit versions for Catalina.
The other alternative is to put your existing Mojave OS on a separate partition or external drive. I even have an old Snow Leopard partition on an old backup drive to access some old software. You have to boot into it just like Bootcamp but this method avoids having to obtain a copy of Windows...
The iPod 2 version sorts out the scale issues and is very nice. We will see if it lasts 10 hrs on an upcoming flight from London to Auckland (23 hrs). Hopefully I can recharge in LA.
Only 'bug' so far is at times I can't manually rearrange the workers in some cities. Also no explanation as...
Alan,
On both my iMac screen and my external 22" screen I get a similar list with the 1440 possible due to the bigger screen widths.
1024 x 768
1152 x 768
1280 x 960
1280 x 854
1280 x 1024
1440 x 900
However, the iMac screen can display 1920 x 1200 native plus 1344 x 840, 1280, 800 etc. The...
Hi Alan,
I have been running CivAssit II under Parallels (v3.0) on a second screen (22") while CIV3 runs on a 24" iMac (Ali) under Leopard (10.5.1). Apart from having to re-select the file to check each move it works a dream.
Not sure what I did to see my Mac folders but its wasn't...
Drat - the Installshield wizard detects the later version and would instal. I will try renaming the .exe file name (have already changed the folder) and try again
Thank Alan
Note my resolution change attempt was done in window mode not full screen. I have found parallels full screen works on the external monitor - result ! However, I note on startup the game window size changes several times as Civ goes through its startup screens. After reloading...
I have a new 24" iMac (2 Gbit RAM) with external 22 " TV/Monitor and loaded CIV 3 complete and Civ IV 1.61 under bootcamp. Both (plus CIV 1 & 2) were on an omnibus collection for around £20 ! However, I also now have Parallels (1 Gbit RAM assigned) with XP SP2 Home and both can be run from the...
Good progress guys and things shaping up for UN.
However, I am very busy this week and will be on holiday from Friday for 8 days so I think I better skip my turn.
Furley - You OK to take the next turn ?
Considering the weak attack on Entremont by the Vikings last time, I would move the extra knight. Probably only one berserker but if there are more two vet knights might see them off.
York might also be an excellent honey pot as it can't be attacked directly from the sea and is nearer to the...
Agreed it is marginal but not bad as in some of our cities the 12th citizen can only work a coastal square for 2 gold. and excess food. A specialist can up gold or beakers one or two points.
