Yes my cities are far from each other, but now they are all connected with road and there is a railway being build around the capital so I think it will be okay. You are in a very bad position right now. Look how small you are comparing to entire planet. Some left overs from Russian civilization. If that's all they have I would leave them in peace for now, they may come handy later. The only thing you need to do is get rid of this poor city Vladivostoc...

Don't irrigate everything right away. It's complete waste of time in my opinion. You're better off building road which is quick then just found a new city. More cities you get, more money (population) you get and in case of unexpected attack, which happens quite often in Civ you can mobilize...

Well what I do to expand fast? I found capital city in 4000 bc. quickly build militia, after milita settlers. I just move several blocks away, so they won't seal each other resources and found another city. I might sometimes build 2nd settlers in capital I prefer to get phalanx or some offensive...
