I think you're being a bit unfair with that last statement. HttT only had 5 features when it was announced and it turned out pretty good. $30 (last time I checked the economy was pretty good, it'll probably be closer to $25) does seem a bit much to pay for what seems like DLC but they change...

HttT was the best expansion by far. You shouldn't wait for Divine Wind to come out and then for it to be put in a bundle with HttT or with HttT and EU3 Complete (which seems more likely.) You should totally get it right now. You will not regret it

In my games the Soviets tend to have between 200-300 ground divisions in late 41 and when I play as Germany my plan is usually to encircle and destroy as many divisions as possible as quickly as possible except it's a lot easier for the Soviets to breakout if your 3 divisions are spread out...

Imperialism allows you to declare war on everyone, 100% war score cost for demanding stuff and 75% infamy. Well a Personal Union is a long term investment. You could take a bunch of provinces from Castille which they would just replace with colonies, or you could get a personal union, wait...

If you're near a lot of infidels and can't get defender of the faith, Empire up until 1650 because you get the Holy War Casus Belli on all infidels. Otherwise always go with Absolute Monarchy simply because Imperialism is such a useful Casus Belli.

If you claim thrones you can get a Casus Belli on the nation that you claimed on which is special in that one of the peace treaty conditions can be a Personal Union. Alternatively you can claim a throne and wait until their King dies. If they don't have an heir you'll either get a personal union...
