Yeah, for example we will see in the early game ( so around before 1700 ) more veteran Soldier, Dragoons, Conquistatores, some with good riding skill, light canons. And on the sea more Caraval and tiny trader ships. by the way the sloop is to mighty. And in the cities there are no more factories.
I dont if it still reported or still solve.
I play the April Version 2.8.2.4 and it isn't very easy to beat a ship which is in a harbor/city
And don't receive a combat info.
I capture a corvette and after a fight they didn't receive any xp from the battle. I never use corvette before, so I dont no if it a bug or a feature :shifty:
Edit: I thought the unit get xp from every battle. But it looks like the ship didn't get any xp from an escaping ship
The first time if the pirats apear it close to wrecking your start. Because they destroy your ship and not just steal your cargo.
Would it be possible that an attack of a pirat just damaging your ship and steal your cargo? It is hard anough for the player to lose the cargo. But in close to all...
Generally, I like the idea.
I would add one xp per turn if they work on an improvement. And I would add a cap by 2 or 3 promotion per field.
And another idea is to involved the other social classes who are able to do the pionieering work. Like pasants, the poor and clumsy pickpockers (...
I figured out an trader exploit.
Choose a Nation/Leader with an enterprising perk and established a trade post in an settlement which has the trader perk. Like Chef Joseph, Uracca,... Around every 6 turns they produce a treasure.

By the way. I can't play anymore as the difficulty Governour. It is to heavy to survive. But the AI is indeed better.
In the game which I posted. The English AI doesn't build any cities since more than 60 rounds. Before the year 1600 they lose in a war against the native's...
The units on the home are sorted but they don't put the settler unit at the first point. Check out the English AI.
by the way. In which file are the modifier?
