The problems of Civ VI that will not be fixed in the next espansion

This is an important thread, with some great comments. The great tragedy of Civ VI is not that it's a Sandbox game. That may be a disappointment compared to previous forms where the AI performed better, but there are plenty of highly fantastic sandbox-style experiences. The great tragedy is...

This game is bad and you should feel bad for buying it

I mean, I only feel 'slightly' bad for buying it :). That first day with this game, was fantastic. Then I saw the AI, and I saw how easy it was to win playing half-heartedly, and yes, i got sad. ... But still, that first day! :)

AI not upgrading units breaks the game

Which is why I have wondered aloud on many threads: What did developers see on Turn 200 and beyond that made them Happy with the current state of things? It's like they always tested first 150 turns and then called it a day. There are few things more important than having a modern military...

THE VARU IS AMAZING (4 hour look at India) Prince 155 turns

I'm so glad you're having fun with this game. I truly mean that. Just because I'm heartbroken with it, doesn't mean I want others to be so as well. Great write-up and I hope you have many more fun games!

Civ VI is easy? I don't know...

Hahaha, someone told the Barbs you were pretty good, Acken. They didn't let your Deity skills incubate :). I'm sad that the AI can't fight in the future eras. In BNW, the AI struggles with Artillery because of the 3-range, but otherwise is pretty decent in fighting as the game goes along...

Proper city district planning really pays off...

Good to see Kyoto get large. You can get 300 science pretty easily much, much earlier, too, but of course, we've talked about that a lot on this forum. Glad you had fun with your empire, though. That's something I've struggled with.

What's the first mod you want?

Most desired Mod: Housing and District penalties reduced! Even a simple Mod that Doubles current housing numbers and halves the District penalty modifiers would be lovely.

No Growth and District Production Craziness: I'm Sad watching my "winning" empire

I included my first review thoughts in other threads, but I wanted to focus on 2 things that have really killed my enjoyment of Civ VI: My sweeping empire that stutters to grow or to build districts. Like many, I want to, above all things enjoy my empire-building experience when playing Civ...

Pacing issues - does tech accelerate for others?

The balancing issues are immense, and it's not Eurekas. Housing and production are way out of whack. If you want a military, you build it early, and then save up gold (switch to the -50% upgrade cost). Producing it late game is brutal. Districts take too long, as well, of course. So, you...

    My first game and impressions

First game: Aztecs, Emperor, Standard Speed, Large Map, Continents (with low sea level). Ooooof, I'm really not sure what to make of this game. By Turn 200 I am almost at the SpacePort, and My science is double the AIs. That, however, isn't my issue... it is Emperor after all. 1) The...

Units still attacking units in fog of war through move command

I'm positive I saw some early build devplays where moving a scout 3 spaces through fog of war, and the 2nd move showed barbarians, resulted in a stop-move on the scout. The dev could change the last move. Now, in war... it'd certainly be helpful to have a similar mechanic, but I "think" the...

    Well that's disappointing

Housing will be Immensely punitive. Think out-loud to yourself how to get a city up to 14 housing capacity before Neighborhoods, and see how far you get... Whether the 'H' is for housing, or for for Health, it is a mad-dog factor on city growth. And the Micro of IV will be back in that as soon...

    Rome First Look (Trajan) Video

Have you seen how buffed up Defender of the faith is? +10 near friendly cities, I think. Might be key on high difficulties. Spearman spam could stop the Legions.
